Now do the right thing for once - and don’t fight back.
You know, that feels an awful lot like something a rapist would say. Kind of a rephrased “Just lie back and accept it, it’ll be over soon”
If you wish to engage in an actual debate, please read the following: How to Debate. Name calling and insults aren’t debate. Also I’m not even weighing in on the debate itself, I’m pointing out that women are part of this ongoing effort to restrict access as well. Are you that offended by the notion women have a hand in these efforts you refuse to accept their culpability?
But lets go with your argument that men need to stfu on abortion. Hell, we’ll even focus on the Texas bill. If we restricted it to just women, forcing the men to abstain(coincidentally censoring the voice of every woman he represents)would it have even existed? Yes, it was authored by Jodie Laubenberg. So it officially exists now, so lets look at female senator votes in Texas.
That’s it. Only women in the Texas senate being allowed to vote. Even without the help of men, even in the face of protestors, the bill would have passed. We restricted the debate to your rules, in the process denied the voices of thousands of women who’s opinion is represented by those men, and the bill still passed. The problem isn’t men.
So now I have to ask, if it would have happened in the absence of men, how can it be men’s fault?
No ambiguous crap, no declarations I just don’t see it because of some privilege. Show me in actual concrete evidence how under your rules, it still happened.
If you me to accept anything in that rant as fact, rather than opinion, you need to back it up with evidence.
Please tell me how dictating my ability to speak, what I am allowed to say, speak about, and when I am allowed to act in my own interests is equality.
Speaking of irrelevant things:
Lets explore the “no X no opinion” dogma.
- No penis? no opinion on circumcision.(mom’s banned from having their son’s circumcised, only dad’s can decide that, no dad present? no circumcision.)EDIT*Ideally this would be banned altogether.
- Not required to register for selective service? No opinion on war.
- No degree in medicine? No opinion on health issues.
- No penis? no right to dictate condom usage.
- Not a man? No opinion on what problems they have.
- No children? No opinion on child abuse.
- Not married? No opinion on spousal abuse.
- Not a rape victim? No opinion on rape.
I could keep going but the point is clear, draconian rules of engagement don’t help anyone. Personally I fall into all but one of those categories.
Exactly how young are you that you would consider 33 old? I mean I’m not even scheduled to have a ‘Mid-life crisis" for another 20 years.
I’d like to see your proof that I am evil. I can march out a parade of people I’ve fed using money derived from my blood. People I’ve helped through crisis’. Suicidal people I’ve talked out of pulling the trigger, and the gun barrels I’ve stared down just so they were pointing that gun elsewhere.
Tell me exactly what makes me evil. If it’s just because I think the source of the anti-abortion is wider than just men(like the religious activists), and that I’m expressing an opinion contrary to yours while being white, you can stuff it.
For the record, I’ve never once on this blog declared a win, or thought I won. For some reason the people who engage me in debate, give up. Rarely do they engage me with anything other than anecdotes. Sometimes they bring up facts. I am genuinely disappointed when a conversation ends. It means neither side gets to grow. I’m perfectly willing to concede and change my views when shown that I am in error. In fact I welcome it. Go forth and find your evidence, show me. Go over my evidence, find flaws, show me where it’s flawed. You won’t convince me with name calling and insults. Saying I’m wrong with nothing to back it up doesn’t mean you get to declare a win..
