love hides in questions, you cannot ask a thing without giving yourself away. how was your day? (i hope it was good) when can i see you again? (i pray it's soon) do you feel safe with me? (i feel safe with you) what is your favorite color? (i wish to enrobe you in all that makes you smile)

im the type of girl who would wake up early every morning just to water the dirt so u don’t have to ♡

i changed this from trees to dirt bc a lot of people thought trees were supposed to be watered which i didnt expect and turns out some people actually water dirt for some reason so im just going to delete this post

I have to water my dirt so my chickens can eat all the bugs from within yikes

ya but this was supposed be for like real people

i know we joke about it, but how disturbing is it that a woman's face that is considered "naturally beautiful" by men, is actually a face that has been completely altered with subtle makeup, and that men often perceive women that have no makeup on as sickly-looking and tired. and i have to wonder what the consequences of associating makeup with health, both mental and physical, will be in the long run.

two points because i've seen them mentioned in the tags a bit:

a. it's extremely common to joke and tease men for this behavior without actually criticizing it. you'll be surprised at the number of people, a lot of them women, who treat this as a cute personality trait and not the utter failure to recognize the dehumanizing effect makeup has on women that it is. i find it hard to believe you've never come across such jokes, but even if you have not, it absolutely does not mean they don't exist.

b. a lot of people have mentioned that women do this association with makeup and health as well, and that is absolutely true! though in my experience women more often see it as a sign of poor mental (rather than physical) health. that's why a lot of us that don't wear makeup have gone through the experience of other women in our social circle telling us that we're not taking care of ourselves.

in conclusion: makeup is the disease, not a sign of one.

my intended message is actually that makeup is a tool of oppression for women, no disclaimer.

as if women who wear makeup are in any way shamed as much as women who don't.

“fuck a hot girl summer i want a bog witch autumn” just say you’re a terminally online hater with internalized misogyny and go. megan thee stallion did not establish this gender-inclusive, body positive term about having fun and being unapologetically yourself, only for you weirdos to act like it’s problematic or beneath you. it’s not! seriously it just sounds like recycled “i’m not like other girls” rhetoric. it also gives off racist vibes - why so eager to mock the confidence & joy of a black woman and her predominantly black fans?

furthermore, i remind you that hot girl summer (as described by megan thee stallion herself) is about having fun and being yourself. if your version of that is dressing in shapeless robes and chanting ominously in the forest, you do you! that’s your hot girl summer! but stop acting like you’re better than the women whose hot girl summers will involve bikinis and partying. racism and misogyny is not cute or quirky - give it a rest.

said this before will say it again - its very weird when white people keep taking things black people came up with/coined/created, determine its too shallow/sexual/ghetto or whatever, and decide they need to take it over and make it some kind of quirky dorky nerd shit. it reeks of antiblackness that everything black people do has to be turned into some cutesy fluffy stuff bc youre scandalized by black people and especially black women expressing ANYTHING that has to do with being sexy or loving your body or talking about sex or feeling hot or anything of the sort. why so eager to sanitize black peoples bodies and self-expression?
