(she/her) IT'S.....ALIIIIIIIIIIIVE! (barely) 99.8% reblogs/likes, .1% art posted sporadically and completely at random I'm unpredictable like that 👉😉👉 enjoy (ask me about the other .1%) ... ... ... ((its fluff. Get it? like my blog name?? I'm so funny.))

touching grass isn't enough some of y'all need to drive out to the countryside and look at the stars

this post was aimed at the discourse-addled and terminally online, but i'm glad it's reaching an audience of people who are just excited about stargazing in general

when mary oliver said “look, hasn’t my body already felt like the body of a flower? look, i want to love this world as though it’s the last chance i’m ever going to get to be alive and know it”

Barbie was about motherhood and belonging and feminism and love and identity and toxic masculinity and existentialism and humanism and it was, most importantly, pink.

nothin' quite like how a dog loves

let dead dogs lie - silas denver melvin // red dog - elizabeth frink // how to be a dog - andrew kane // domestication syndrome - dhole b // no origin found // for your own good - leah horlick // pleasure - beth cavener // it will come back - hozier // i am a dog. i have blood all over my teeth. - uhode // same poem as directly previous

i like sailing myths and superstitions because most of them can be boiled down to "if the ocean doesn't like you it will chew you up and spit out your bones. and if it really loves you it will swallow you whole and never let you go. good luck 👍"

Crowley didn't know Aziraphale loves dancing and can dance the Gavotte. Aziraphale didn't know Crowley had been living in his car. Crowley didn't know why Aziraphale couldn't speak proper French for centuries. Aziraphale didn't know that Crowley turned down a position as a Duke of Hell to save him from being potentially erased from the Book of Life. Crowley didn't know Aziraphale had a derringer in his bookshop. Aziraphale didn't know Crowley had never shot a gun before 1941. Crowley didn't know Aziraphale had The Nice And Accurate Prophecies and had already found where the antichrist was during the bandstand scene. Aziraphale didn't know there was eventually supposed to be a hellhound coming to the Dowling house for almost all of the eleven years that he and Crowley were raising Warlock. Aziraphale and Crowley both didn't know that they had recruited the same witchfinder army. Some of these are comedic at first, but when you put them all together it's just like. Man. You've been together for 6,000 years and you don't know a damn thing about each other's lives or hobbies or thoughts or feelings or ANYTHING. Humans with a fraction of the time they have will tell each other plenty! They don't say a word until it's too late!

they're so silly, but this makes total sense. I mapped out the timeline of their canon interactions and they haven't actually been hanging out often for most of history. they've known of each other since time immemorial but it seems to me like they haven't been really hanging out until around 537-1601 AD:

  1. Before the beginning
  2. Garden of Eden - 4004 BC (Aziraphale asks for then-Crawley's name, implying that they haven't had the chance to meet properly since Crowley made those nebulae)
  3. Flood at Mesopotamia - 3004 BC
  4. Job - 2500 BC (They haven't met since the flood)
  5. Jesus's crucifixion - 33 AD (Crawley reintroduces himself as Crowley)
  6. Rome - 41 AD (They greet each other like acquaintances who haven't seen each other in a while)
  7. Kingdom of Wessex - 537 AD (Aziraphale accidentally calls him by his old name, implying that they haven't hung out often enough for him to get used to it - by then it would've been 504 years since Crowley has changed his name)
  8. Shakespeare - 1601 (They imply that they've spoken of an arrangement before, meaning they've met between 537 AD and 1601 for business purposes or otherwise)
  9. French Revolution - 1793 (They're quite familiar at this point; the oldest date of their I'm Sorry Dance is set between the previous entry and this one, in 1650)
  10. Deleted scene of Aziraphale's bookshop opening - 1800 (Crowley brings chocolates and prevents Aziraphale's relocation so he can stay on Earth)
  11. Edinburgh - 1827 (They hang out around Edinburgh where they both "happen to be", Crowley is collected by hell after he prevented Elspeth's suicide)
  12. Holy water incident - 1862 (It's unclear if they've met since Edinburgh)
  13. The Blitz - 1941 (Unclear if they've been meeting since 1862; they have a very romantic dinner)
  14. Soho - 1967 (The legendary 'you go too fast for me' scene)
  15. Good Omens S1 onwards

still though, they've been close friends for at least 400 years so it's crazy that they still communicate so poorly. you could almost say it's ineffable :)

It’s finally happened.

After almost a decade on this site, I found another Tumblr user in the wild. I stopped to tie my shoe with rainbow laces this morning outside the silversmith at Colonial Williamsburg, and I heard it.

“I like your shoelaces.”

Oh. Oh no.

I responded the only way I could. “Thanks.” And then I reluctantly added, “I stole them from the president…and if that makes sense to you, I’m very sorry.”

The poor man, in full Colonial dress, stared at me for a long moment. And then burst into laughter. And said, “I haven’t thought about that in YEARS and this has never happened to me before.”

Yeah. Me neither. Not until today.

Tumblr rite of passage. Achievement unlocked.

@victoriansecret I found your friend!!!

THIS IS AMAZING

It's just... there's something really moving to see Keyleth here. The celebrated and beloved Voice of the Tempest, who's recovery is greeted with cheers, who's one of the strongest people in the world, who just commands respect and seems so confident... and knowing where she came from.

The anxiety, the fear of not being worthy. the uncertainty of her role, if she could be a leader. And maybe that's still there to some degree, but still, look at where she started and where she is!

Basically gods, indeed.

Keyleth: "Orym, I was once like you, young yet burdened with so much knowledge about the world and how unjust it can be. I can see in your eyes a rage conflicted with fear, a need to fix this broken world and fear of not being enough. I know that feeling well. I’ve worn those insecurities my whole life. All of this may seem bigger than you. And it is. It’s bigger than all of us, individually. But we are whole as a people. We, Ashari. We, Exandrians. We, who want to shepherd a brighter future for the generations to come. Most fear taking those first difficult steps, thankless steps. However, all it takes to rally the incredible strength of a people is one brave soul to take that step forward and do what it takes to fight for it. Then, their strength is yours. And your strength is theirs. I see a bravery in you that matches the immensity of your heart. You carry much weight. I recognize it because I carry my own. Some days, it may not seem fair. It isn’t. But find the strength to lift yourself up, heavy as it all may be, and still take that step. When the others rally, they will help you carry it. Orym of the Air Ashari, you are a paragon in the memory of dear Derrig, and his son, your partner, Will. You are a heart buffeted by the winds of change and the cold of reality, yet you continue to move forward. You are hope. You are Orym, my friend. You are Orym, Savior Blade of the Tempest. And you are never alone."

Orym: This all feels real heavy, cause I'm so small. Like vines, we grow together. I will try to do Derrig proud."

Keyleth: "If it helps, I watched someone even smaller than you speak a few words and send a newly born god to a realm where they’ll never return. So I think you’re much bigger on the inside than you give yourself credit for."

Keyleth examines Ashton with her magic. Ashton feels a warmth creep through him and suddenly feels like he weighs a ton, that he is unmoveable. Keyleth: "You carry a power I cannot recognize; and a power I can, but seldom feel. Your blood carries elemental power, but not that of the normal earthkin and genasi in general. You carry a fragment of primordial elemental ⁣capability within you. The best way I can describe it is you are a titan of blood. I recognize it because a friend once carried a primordial shard. Your potential is vast and frightening, and I’m glad to have you at Orym’s side." Ashton takes off their jacket, and shows the hourglass symbol that is vaguely Ashari. Ashton: "I dreamed of this, my entire life, and I have had no idea what it was."

Keyleth looks both like she realizes something, and is frustrated by something.

Keyleth: "Maybe it came at a great cost, but the Hishari did something. That is their symbol."
