Oh, you’re a villain, alright! Just not a super one!
We have our first Winner in the Drawing!
Thank you Willow (in the Server) for submitting:
Summary:
For Father's Day, Wayne Scott usually takes his father out to dinner at the finest restaurant in Metrocity. But this time, he's invited Megamind and Warden John Parker along. Yeah. This'll work out well.
SInce a lot of members work and live in different timezones, we are gonna give them a chance a read before we discuss. We will probably begin discussions on Saturday (or Sunday for folks on the other side of the world)
If you haven't join the server and want to join in on the fun, you can find us here:

Frankly some of you should be hornier over weirder shit. The fear of being too genuine is the enemy of art. Be a bit of a pervert. It's good for the health. Doesn't have to be a sexual thing just own up to being a bit obsessed in some cringe shit it's fine.
Reblog and put in the tags what you think is the most beautiful body part. Not necessarily in a sexy way, just like what body part is sculpted perfectly.
im so glad emoticons like ^_^ O_o xD etc are having kind of a renaissance lately after the dark ages of them being considered cringe… they are like brothers to me. they’ve been here for me like no one else since time immaterial (since i was like nine)
I never see elderly mers so I thought I would toss something out there.
[Image Description: A digital painting of two older black mer people kissing, their tails twined around each other. The mer to the left is a trans man with visible top surgery scars. He has short grey hair in an undercut and the tail of an epaulette shark (tan with black spots). The mer on the right is a fat woman with grey hair partially in cornrows and the tail of a mandarinfish (orange with turquoise patterns). Both wear a few bands of gold jewelry. /end ID]

if they rebooted austin powers it would either be the most tone deaf unfunny incredibly offensive movie in years OR they'd do it right and really keep with the times in being very self aware and it would be one of the best films in decades. austin powers would be a massive support of trans rights because trans women means more women for him to shag
oh your pronouns are she/they? well baby lemme she/them titties shagadelic
austin powers discovers bisexuality and it blows his fucking mind
sub plots of the movie include him learning who he thought was a woman he previously had relations with is a trans man now and powers teaching him the ways of picking up women & powers learning he has a daughter from one of his many escapades who's accidentally followed in his footsteps to also become a spy. the two have to team up and powers struggles being a father after being absent for so long, but eventually it's revealed his daughter is a lesbian and they bond over their mutual love of shagging women
the only joke made in regards to the trans man's gender is powers going "you're a man now? now that's groovy, honey! sorry, is it still okay to call you honey?"
the trans man is revealed from powers learning about bisexuality and lamenting that he could've also been shagging men this entire time, only for the trans man to be like "well...."
instead of the usual awful transphobic joke of being disgusted powers is instead ecstatic that he's already had relations with another man and that the pressure is already off for future encounters
there's a mid credits scene of him celebrating his first planned encounter with a man and him making a comment about how he's finally been with "both" genders, where he's then informed of non-binary people existing and how there's a whole world of genders for him to explore and it freeze frames on his shocked but absolutely delighted face
Reminders for the Anxious/Depressed Creatives
- You’re more than what you make.
- Your productivity does not determine your value.
- It’s okay to do nothing sometimes.
- Not everything you do has to result in a product.
- Not everything you make has to be important, significant, or even good.
- You can make things just for yourself.
- You can keep secrets for yourself, whether it’s not posting some of your projects or not sharing your techniques.
- You’re allowed to say no.
- You’re allowed to rest.
2023 Updates:
- Inspiration doesn’t cure burnout. Rest cures burnout.
- People will wait for you; take your time and come back when you are ready.
- It’s okay to scrap projects that no longer excite you, even if other people like them.
- It’s delightful and excellent to be openly proud of your work.
- Afford yourself the same gentleness that you would afford another creative - negative self-talk is counterproductive and frankly cruel.
- Self-indulgent creations are satisfying to others as well; don’t apologize for your own pleasure.
- Actually, don’t apologize for your work at all.
yes yes yes yes
One time my dad came to family dinner all excited “you know that show Sherlock? I hear fans are writing whole new stories for it online”
And in perfect unison my sister and I yelled “DAD NO!” So vehemently he stopped in his tracks.
Then a look of dawning comprehension on his face.
“Oh, this is like Kirk and Spock, isn’t it”
And I died right then and there.
My mom was into fanfic back when it was still all in handmade zines passed back and forth in-person. My mother is the one who first told me what fanfic was. My mother used to print her favorite fics out on our home printer and stick them on the shelf to read again later. My mom had an Ao3 account before I'd ever heard of Ao3.
Fanfic is not some new millennial/gen z thing that nobody over 35 knows about. It's really not that weird for middle-aged folks and elders to be into it. The folks who were writing Spirk fic in the 60s are, like. Still around.
Yes they are. And some of them have given me actual money to write for them!
It's an amazing world we live in. :)
If you're a creator and you needed to hear this today:
You have no idea how many people lurk on your work. No idea how many times people go back to revisit your work. How big they smile when they simply think about your work. How fast their heart beats, how excited they get when they see that you posted something.
People are shy with their feedback. Sometimes it’s because they’re simply shy. Other times it’s because they assume you already know how great and talented you are. Could be both.
My point is, even if you barely have any likes or reblogs, don’t get discouraged. You have a lot of silent fans, but they are still your fans. Keep on creating. Because there is always someone out there who will love what you have made.
time to cook: fanfic tropes
dont get me wrong this is #mood but just try eating a piece of bread with salt. please, seriously. ok? at least a tiny bit. salt helps with nausea, bread calms the stomach acid. if you really can’t face eating anything, just lick some salt like a damn elk, then wait and see if you can manage the bread. make some broth if you’re into that kind of thing. no spices, yes salt. if you’re feeling too weak and shaky to do much, just have a cup of tea with sugar (energy) and lemon (again, good against nausea). nibble on the lemon first, it will feel good, but don’t overdo - citric acid on an empty stomach is a majorly bad idea. take care of yourself, you’re the only you we’ve got
“just lick some salt like a damn elk” is the new “touch grass”
