SPOILER ALERT

Volume turned up with headphones in, the breathing of the character that is killed is definitely a guy. And it’s not Carl or Rick for sure. And it’s no one sitting to their lefts either, because Negan points to his right when he mentions them before using Lucille. So that means it’s either Abe, Daryl, or Glenn. The breathing didn’t really sound like Abe, and there wasn’t really any grunting, Abe seems like a grunter. But he definitely is someone who couldn’t be knocked down right away. Daryl was sitting, and practically touching Rosetta, it seemed like the person he killed had a lot of space to… well die. Michone was on the other side of him too. Daryl also was pretty weak from being shot, not saying he wouldn’t fight to get back up, it’s Daryl, but I think he would have been slower. But Norman Reedus has a new show now, so it makes you wonder if he’s done on TWD. Glenn is the most obvious choice because it was him who died in the comic. He’s also sitting in kind of a lone spot, no one is to his right and to his left is Rosetta who is closest to Daryl so there’s quite a bit of space. The breathing sounds closest to him, but I could be wrong. The others screaming is very distorted, but I swear I hear Maggie’s voice the most almost sounds like she’s saying “Glenn Glenn Glenn” but prolly not, but that would make sense if it was him. So those are my thoughts.

YOU KNOW HOW CRUEL THAT IS TO NOT TELL US WHO GOT KILLED?? AND MAKE US WAIT 6 MONTHS?! I HONESTLY THINK THAT’S EVEN WORSE THAN SEEING OUR MOST FAVORITE CHARACTER DIE IN THE LAST SECOND!!

CAN PEOPLE START APPRECIATING GLENN HE HAS BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH

-covered in walker guts -kidnapped -drive walkers away in the red car -goes down well to get walker -finds the barn walkers and is put in a really uncomfortable position -kidnapped with Maggie -beaten extremely hard -tied to a chair and forced to fight a walker -wife is assaulted by governor- loads of self blame -almost killed by governor -multiple walker attacks throughout the seasons -catches virus -almost dies from virus -is left behind at the prison -separated from wife needs to find her -almost dies in tunnel saving Tara -gets kidnapped again at terminus -almost gets head bashed in at terminus -Nicholas tries to kill him -wife is pregnant during the apocalypse -stuck in revolving doors forced to watch his friend Noah being torn apart by walkers -tries to save Nicholas, almost dies himself -watches a man shoot himself right before him -has to crawl under a dumpster to survive -has to make his way back to Alexandria -almost eaten by walkers to save Maggie -constantly ignored/overlooked by people (tells daryl “it’s gonna go wrong out here” and then what happens -is kidnapped, again, by saviours -is most likely pushed around a bit in the hands of the saviours -kept in a box -sees pregnant wife looking “shitty” -most likely killed by lucille (but who knows) They’ve all been through so much crap it’s unbelievable, but Glenn is constantly shat on by the writers lmao and everyone seems to forget it.

The 6:16 TWD “Cliffhanger” Analysis

When I watched this season’s finale last night, I was as disappointed as everyone else with the gimmicky way in which the writers and producers chose to end this season. I’ve since rewatched the episode, and while it feels to be in just as poor taste the second time through, I’ve realized that in at least one aspect I was wrong: what I (and many of us) had thought was a very disappointing cliffhanger is actually just a very disappointing sendoff to one of two favorite characters (if not, the writers have reached their lowest low yet).

Here’s what I noticed the second time around: throughout the episode, we get brief glimpses of a scene which is shot through the point of view of one of the four people originally captured by the saviors (Daryl, Glenn, Rosita, and Michonne). Then at the end of the episode, as we all know, whoever was behind this POV is beaten to death by Negan at the end of the episode. This conclusively narrows our guess to one of these four.

But which one? At 36 minutes in, we get another brief view, and this time we see someone to the front and left of us, checking over themselves (their hand specifically). This is Daryl, as we will see later. So though badly injured, he is safe, at least for now.

At 52 minutes, we get a very brief moment when the four captives are taken out of the truck. Dwight opens the door to the left of our POV, which is the right rear door of the van. We can still see Daryl in front of us (his hair in this case). Then at 52:27 we switch out of POV, and confirm that it is Daryl in front of the one who is killed. Michonne is behind him, making her a very real possibility. We also can know that it was not her who we could see in front of our POV, because the hair was like Daryl’s rather than hers. Rosita comes from the left (which seems to have been to the right of our character, if  safe). Glenn is pulled out last, but we don’t get to see where he was in the van, so he could be it too.

So now the counting thing. Unfortunately, Negan didn’t count in order, which makes all of this way more difficult. For example, at 1:03:17 he skips Daryl for no apparent reason, counts Rosita (”catch”) and then returns to Daryl (”a tiger”). He then goes back to Sasha, completely skipping Glenn. The lighting here is from only one direction, but continuity in this show is not always reliable. Just before 1:04 we see rick, with his face lit from his right (ours and Negan’s left). Then we see Negan’s face, looking down at whoever is “it”, and lit from his right (so Rick it to his right, and perhaps slightly behind him). He’s still facing the group, which means he has to be to Rick’s far right (where Rosita and Glenn are). Michonne should be safe, assuming continuity, because this brightest light source should be coming from behind her, and if it were her Negan’s face would be lit from the front.

So in summary, the characters who we know are safe (unless the story telling is extremely incongruent and discontinuous, which it may well be) are Daryl, Rick, and Carl, because of Negan’s threat at 1:04:04, and our POV seeing Daryl in front of him or her. And via lighting and counting, it is almost certainly Glenn, though we can’t rule out Rosita.
