"Revolution"

I made this sigil for the strawberry moon, and I felt I should share. Black lives matter!

now more than ever you must look for the gods in the smallest of places, in the details, in the power of someone's eyes. they are at every cry for peace, theyre at every step protestors take, they're at every word of justice, every heavy heartbeat, every fire started, and the way it grows and grows to reach the heavens, every silence of resistance, every tear rolling down someone's cheeks.

they are here now more than ever. have that in mind.

Negative Feelings Tarot Spread

1. Why were you feeling so negative?

2. What can you do to make yourself feel more positive?

3. What should you not do?

1. 7 of swords reversed

Basically you were feeling negative because you thought that you had accumulated bad luck - you were doubting your abilities, organisational skills etc. You weren’t being honest with yourself and you weren’t paying attention to what you needed.

2. 3 of swords

To make yourself feel positive, just let yourself cry. Yesterday wasn’t your day, and that’s okay, embrace the sadness and today you can move on from this.

3. 4 of wands

You probably should not be going outside of your comfort zone - it’s good to be inside your bubble if that makes you feel happy but remember that you will have step outside into the ‘real world’ soon enough.

Bay Leaves

bay leaves are one of the most useful things. for one, they can be used in practical, everyday use. they can be cooked into things for health and flavor benefits, and are one of the most effective natural pest repellents.

their usefulness only increases when looking at their magickal benefits. similarly to their physical benefit, bay leaves have a very strong cleansing energy to them. their energy isn’t neccesarily “remove the negative,” but  rather, “move on from the old, and in with the new.” As for their other characteristics,

Associated Element- Fire

Associated Chakra- Root

Associated Moon Phase- Waxing Gibbous

Associated Runes- Wunjo, Gebo

the most unique feature to the bay leaf is its ability to fulfill wishes. here’s how to do that:

purify your leaf. putting the leaf in some salt is a good way to make sure the leaf is spiritually clean, and will not taint your wish in any way.

write your wish. write your wish on the underside of the leaf, using a medium of your choice. the more sacred the medium, the stronger the wish (graphite will not warrant the same results as, per say, blood). it can be as wordy or lengthy as you desire, as long as it is clear, and not incredibly specific

boil the leaf. in simple, low-concentration salt water, boil as many leaves as you choose. preferably done outside, on a windy day. what happens here, is the vapors travel up into the sky and the clouds, where it rains back down in the form of said wish.

Pendulums 🧵

Disclaimer This is all based on my research, experiences & opinion.

Introduction  I got sent an ask referring to pendulums & although I use pendulums & have made a post before it was quite short & poorly written so here we are again with a new one!

Defining & Acquiring A Pendulum

What is a pendulum?  The mundane definition of a pendulum is-  “A weight hung from a fixed point so that it can swing freely backward and forward, especially a rod with a weight at the end that regulates the mechanism of a clock.” While this is simply the mundane definition, it gives you a good idea of an object or creation that might qualify as a pendulum. From a witchcraft perspective, a pendulum is a small item that hangs from a string/thread/chain that can be used for divination.

Why use a pendulum? Many forms of divination require a bit of in depth analysis & aren’t very useful for simply or yes/no questions while a pendulum is perfect for this. It is also fairly simple, beginner friendly, closet witch friendly, cheap & portable!

Where do I get a pendulum?  I got mine at a shop that specializes in crystal jewelry but you can make a pendulum, use a necklace, or buy them at crystal, metaphysical, or witchy/pagan supply shops.

How do I make one?  You can make a pendulum out of really any small object and a string/thread/chain. A common way to make one easily is by using a needle on a thread. There a lot of options though depending on what you have access to, how much time you want it to take, how much knowledge you have & how witchy you want it to look. If you want to make a pendulum that is anything but simple then google pictures!

Where can I get a pendulum? | How do I pick?  If you would like to buy a pendulum instead of make one there are a wide variety of things people use to make pendulums but a common one is crystals. Mine is opalite! The type of crystal or other material the pendulum is made out of will correspond with the uses the pendulum has. Ex: a rose quartz pendulum is good for questions relating to love. Other materials may carry correspondences too, such as wood or metal.

How do I use a pendulum?

Cleansing & Charging  As you do with all items you intend to use for witchcraft, cleanse the pendulum before you use it! You can also choose to charge it, especially if its crystal but this isn’t as deeply essential as cleansing.

Method Selection  You can either ask the pendulum to “show you yes/no/ect” and watch/record the way it swings or use a pendulum board (good idea to google one so you get a better idea what I’m referring to.) A pendulum board has “yes/no/ect” written on it and you hold the pendulum above it. It swings & its answers are indicated by the board below. I have always used the first method personally but it’s entirely up to you!

Basic Question  Now that you’re prepared, ask the pendulum several questions you already know the answers to. You could also chose to interview the pendulum as you would other divination tools such as a tarot deck. This is entirely up to you though.

Practice  Practice makes perfect! If you want to get used to using a pendulum, practice a lot. Ask it diverse questions & record your results!

Tips & Reminders

  • Pendulums are best used for yes/no questions.
  • If you can’t come up with a question, think of something that’s been troubling you & how you can turn that into a question. This also works with other forms of divination.
  • If you use the method where you ask the pendulum to “show you” yes or no, it is advised you don’t just ask it to show this on the first reading & record results but ask it before each reading. Some pendulums are consistent, some are not. Some witches are consistent, some are not.

I hope this helped you or you learned something!  Enjoy!  Have a lovely day 💖

🔮🌸Quartz🌸🔮

Clear Quartz 🌸

. Clear quartz is one of the most useful items used in Witchcraft, its an easily obtained stone and is very cost effective! The great thing about clear quartz is that its an amazing all purpose stone that can be used for almost anything.

. Quartz helps enhance psychic ability and boosts energy. With that being said it also absorbs negative energy so its important to cleanse clear quartz after use.

Rose Quartz 🌹

. Just like clear quartz it boosts energy and stores energy but its also used for self love, emotional healing and to boost your self-esteem.

. Its another popular stone that is used in the craft and again a small tumbled piece is very cost effective. I take one around with me in my bag all the time but also remember to cleanse this one regularly 😊

Smoky Quartz 🔮

. My personal favourite out of them all is smoky quartz. Its grey/brown in colour and is mostly used for grounding. Its a crystal that is great for keeping you on track with your goals and intentions.

. Great for manifestation work and clarity when obstacles are put in your way.

Tourmalinated Quartz ⚡

. Contains healing properties of both clear quartz and black tourmaline. The mix of both these two minerals creates a powerful healing energy that works together to restore harmony and tranquility.

Cleansing your Quartz🌙

Some of the methods I use are;

. Moonlight

. Incense Smoke

. Salt

. Salt water

. Candle light

🌜Always check which Crystals are safe to put in water/salt water and salt! 🌛

💫The Five Elements💫

When people think of “the elements,” they’re probably thinking of the typical earth, air, water, and fire, but they don’t think of the fifth element, nor do they think about the stats of the elements or even the power behind them. This post is meant to go into detail about the five elements, and I hope that I (and my excessive reasearch, lol) are of use to you! 💛

🔥💥Fire💥🔥

Fire cleanses and purifies, but it is also creative and destructive. It can consume everything in it’s path and it is the only one of the elements that cannot exist without feeding on something else. It offers warmth and cooks food, but can get out of control. It has the power to transform everything it touches. It is positive and lifting, but can be frightening if not controlled. It is the most physical and spiritual of the elements and represents magick itself. Fire is represented in the forms of burning objects, love spells (always preferably self-love spells), baking, and lighting candles and fires.

✨🌌Spirit🌌✨

Spirit (also known as Ether/Aether) is, by far, the most complex and complicated element to explain. It is what unites all things, anywhere and everywhere, and is our connection to the otherworld in rituals. The spirit element transports us beyond any narrow confines and allows us to open up to something much bigger, it is present in all aspects of life, and goes beyond thought and emotion. Unlike the other four elements it has no defined place or location, even though we cannot specifically place it, we know it is there. It provides the space, connection, and balance for the other elements to exist. All spells benefit from this element.

“Now dance, fucker, dance, he never had a chance.”

A sigil inspired by You’re Gonna Go Far Kid by The Offspring.  Use for hexing/cursing.  I like to incorporate music in my craft, so I sometimes make sigils based on certain songs or lines from them that go along with what the song makes me feel, then listen to it to help me raise the necessary energy while focusing my intentions and using the sigils for various things.  This one I’ll most likely be using to help with hexing corrupt cops and such who are harming protesters who aren’t even being violent.

A Spell to Protect BLM Protesters

Although magic is no substitute for genuine activism, not all of us are able to attend protests, donate money, or even be outspoken about our support. This spell allows you to magically lend your energy to the cause.

What you will need:

  • a sheet of white, red, or black paper
  • a black pen
  • a protection oil, a protective essential oil like myrrh or rosemary, or salt water

Performing the Ritual:

  • Write the words “Black Lives Matter” in the center of your paper. As you do so, visualize these words forming a connection between yourself and the protesters who are a part of the movement.
  • Draw a circle around the words, moving your pen counterclockwise.
  • Say: “I cast protection around those protesting on behalf of the Black Lives Matter movement. They are under my protection from anyone who would do them harm or oppose their goals.”
  • If you work with sigils, runes, or some other kind of magical symbols, feel free to incorporate symbols for protection and power into your circle.
  • Take a little bit of your oil or salt water on the tip of your index finger and use it to anoint the circle at each of the four cardinal points (north, east, south, west), starting at the top of the circle and moving clockwise.
  • Say, “May this [oil/salt] protect those protesting on behalf of the Black Lives Matter movement. May it shield them from harm and surround them with a wall of protection and light.”
  • Focus your energy on the paper, and visualize the protests going on around the country right now. Focus on sending your energy to those protests to protect and support those participating.

I’m a Reiki practitioner, so when I did this spell I also incorporated a distance Reiki session to send Reiki energy to those protesting, and to add an extra layer of protection. If you practice any kind of energy work, that would be a beautiful thing to incorporate into this spell.

If you worship any deities associated with justice, feel free to call on them during this ritual.

Finally, if you have an altar, fold up your paper and place it on your altar once you finish the spell. Keeping the paper in a sacred space will allow it to keep receiving energy, and you can come back to pray for/send energy to protesters again in the future.

What to do next

  • If you can, donate to organizations that contribute to the cause, like Black Visions Collective, Reclaim the Block, or a similar local organization.
  • If you can’t donate, raise awareness on social media and in real life. (For my fellow white folks: try to focus on sharing stories from POC, rather than talking over them. Yes, we should use our privilege to raise awareness, but we should do that in a way that keeps the focus on those who are directly affected by the issue.)
  • IF YOU ARE ATTENDING A PROTEST, be smart and be safe. Keep your face covered, don’t talk to reporters, don’t take pictures (especially if you use iCloud!), stay the fuck away from anyone with a camera, and don’t post about it on social media.

this is i n c r e d i b l y important !!! my fellow practioners, let’s do this and help protect those speaking out against the deaths of our black brothers and sisters due to police brutality!

Dear cis feminist

Please acknowledge that not all men have male privilege, not all men are seen as male, not all men are “manly enough” to have male privilege. And some men have life experience as a woman. And some people you assume are male aren’t. ~just a friendly reminder from your neighborhood transgender folk.
