If Dreams are all I Have

There was a little blonde boy in my dream. I say little but he was as old as he's supposed to be. Tall. He looked just like you, just like ellie. His face wasn't round like mine. Thinner and more distinguished. His eyes the color of oceans and his hair white as the sugar sand. Short hair, he must have liked it that way. I took the crayon away from him. It wasn't his turn yet. Ellie was doing an experiment. He smiled at me and looked down. A smile like yours. Almost shy. I held his face in my hand and kissed his dirty cheek. Dirty like a boy would be, from playing outside. Getting into messes. He came to visit me today for the first time in years. It was so normal, so real. Like he never even left. He was right there. Right in my reach. In my hands, he was right there.
