What's the Lara-su chronicles?

OH BOY!

So one of the last arcs Penders wrote for Archie was called Mobius: 25 Years Later. It was, as you might assume, a story set 25 years in the future of the comics, where everyone is married and has kids and whatnot. It primarily follows Lara-Su, Knuckles and Julie-Su’s daughter. It was kinda boring and uneventful, but as a kid I thought it was neat to see the characters in the future. Penders considers it his magnum opus

Famously, Penders quit the Archie comics with issue 160 in part due to the fact that Archie and Sega wanted him to change the story of M25YL. He left, Ian took over. During his lawsuits, Penders announced plans to make a new series with the characters he created for Archie. And now, for the last… oh, seven years I believe? Penders has been hyping up his new comic, The Lara-Su Chronicles. It is, quite blatantly, his followup to M25YL, with many of his Archie characters present. He’s tweaked some things so it’s legally not a Sonic story anymore (Knuckles is now a character named K’Nox, and their species is referred to as Echyd’nya), but he’s very open about its nature as an Archie Sonic spinoff

And, you know, that’s fine. He’s allowed to do that. I kinda respect the man for wanting to finish his story. Except it’s been years, and he hasn’t released a single issue. Just a few scattered bits of promotional art, and scripts, and maybe a single page here or there. All the while, he hypes it up, promoting it at cons and selling merch and bragging about the sick e-reader app he’s developing for it, while constantly talking shit on the Sonic comics written by anyone other than him

Oh, and it looks like this
