Why is it inappropriate?

good mushroom spots are so few and far between. if too many people know of it, someone else will get to it before you do! finding a good spot is kept as a secret within a family so that you can ensure you manage to get some tasty chantarelles during mushroom season :) ASKING for someone’s spots is a social faux pas because you’re asking them to give up their mushrooms for you. lots of people in sweden take mushroom season really seriously!!!

It’s so frustrating to be researching some harmless insect or arthropod and the first ten results are pest removal websites like “if you put your baby in the dirt and your baby has a shellfish allergy and compulsively eats a woodlouse it might have a reaction and then your baby will die, so give us a call and we will kill every woodlouse on your property so that your baby can lick the underside of rocks with no fear of triggering shellfish allergies”.

Why... why are woodlouses and shellfish connected?!?

They’re crustaceans, just like shrimp and crabs and lobsters.

Other arthropods also have similar proteins in their exoskeletons they can trigger the same allergies.
