‼️IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ‼️

im sure by now most of you have heard of or are aware of the explosion that occurred in beirut, lebanon today. if not, THIS THREAD (linked) should be able to educate you and give you a quick run down.
if you are looking for WAYS TO HELP/DONATE, here is a THREAD (also linked) with reliable sources that should guide you in the right direction. like the thread mentions, as well as some other posts going around, THE PETITIONS DON’T HELP/WON’T WORK IN THE MIDDLE EAST. the quickest way to provide relief is by DONATING
i’m aware that with the pandemic, amongst other personal matters, money is tight. please keep in mind anything helps. donate what you can!
with that being said: i donated $20 to this medical relief fund (linked). the money will be used to cover medical supplies, as well as their shipping and handling directly to lebanon. i don’t have a huge following, but i figured i’d extend the branch and see if any of my followers would be willing to donate or potentially even MATCH ME!!! i don’t have anything to offer you, im just a college kid trying to make it through and help out as well. if anything, it would be great if you could REBLOG THIS AND SPREAD THE WORD.

here are a few more organizations/go fund me’s you can donate to (if you don’t want to go through the twitter threads above):

i hope this helps shed a light on the situation. i have friends that live in beirut so this does get a little personal/hits close to home. the people of the middle east have continuously suffered and continue to suffer and to have direct access to resources that could help ease their pain a little bit is incredible. as an iraqi daughter of refugees/immigrants myself, i felt like this was the least i could do.

THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS. PLEASE SHARE IF YOU CAN.
