If you use arab.org like I do please consider taking the extra 30-60 seconds to click on ALL of their causes. Palestine is important but so are the environment, refugees, children, women, and the impoverished across the middle east and it doesn't take away from Palestine to click for multiple causes. The arab world faces a lot of problems and they only get worsened by how western nations have oppressed and attacked them. Clicking is small but it generates something and overtime it does benefit the greater good. It takes all of us clicking as often as possible but we can do it! It's really easy and safe and they have proofs on their site on how they do make an impact and are donating your click money

List of charities (that I know of) to donate to in order to provide emergency relief to those suffering in Gaza:

If anyone has any other recommendations or suggestions, feel free to share them in the comment section, or even reblog this post!

Reblogging this in the wake of the attack on Al-Shifa Hospital. Donate if you can, or at the very least give this a signal boost!

Reblogging for Valentines Day. ♥️ Here are a few more additions:

#GoFundMe tag on my blog has plenty of GoFundMe links for Palestinians and citizens in Gaza to evacuate.

Also, be sure to check out other charities/organizations under the #donations and #signal boost tags on my blog.

Hey, I know it's fun to make fun of Henry Kissinger. But you know what's even more fun? Donating to organizations that help undo some of the damage that Kissinger inflicted on various countries. Here's a couple of links!

Cambodian Children's Fund (I donated $50 to this one- that's enough feed 26 families by providing 5 kilograms of rice each month!)

FAFG (This is a charity that helps Guatemalans find loved ones who disappeared during the Guatemalan Civil War.)

The Halo Trust (This charity is dedicated to removing landmines in Angola. Since 1994, they've destroyed nearly 100,000 landmines!)

Children of Vietnam (This charity helps impoverished Vietnamese families.)

TECHO-Chile (A really great charity that focuses on housing and community-based projects in the slums of Chile)

he literally could not care less about what's being said here. this has always been a waste of time. just kill these people

They do not care about hypocrisy, about consistency, about facts, about truth.

They care about power.

They will say anything, believe anything, and do anything that gains more power for themselves or takes it away from others. Doing “gotcha” questions and logic-dunking on them doesn’t work, because they don’t care about being right, they care about having power. They engage in hypocrisy on purpose, as an act of domination over the fools who believe in things like truth and principles and integrity. Their willingness to override reality gives them power over people who believe reality matters. Trying to debate them is pointless. The only winning move is not to play. Shut them down and shut them out at every opportunity.

protesters in Atlanta just got hit with $700k bail for two people who were arrested at the night of rage for Tortuguita. if you guys could donate to the Atlanta Solidarity Fund and spread the word that they need funds, that would be really helpful to the local scene, including the forest defenders who are still mourning their murdered comrade.

The TLDR: violent bigots have created a site that anyone can use to report the location of a drag event.

Just to be clear: their form is at a page called Defend Texas Kids and any concerned citizens could click the report button and give the address of anywhere hosting a drag event. There doesn't appear to be any filtering, so in theory anyone could enter any location.

They really should have a way of validating the data people enter, to stop enterprising people entering fictitious events at, say, conservative sites. The site could easily be overloaded with erroneous data making their system unusable...

I would NEVER suggest someone fill in data from any kind of list that may already exist in the wild and just needs a search or two for the right addresses. That kind of thing would definitely prevent anyone from easily sorting junk data from the database.

The names of the Club Q victims are out. Let’s pay our respects to each of them and celebrate their lives.

Daniel Davis Aston, 28

Daniel was a bartender at Club Q. An outspoken trans man, he continuously helped raise donations for Black trans people on his Instagram. He was “the light in every room” according to his close friend.

Raymond Green

Raymond was celebrating his friend’s birthday when the shots broke out. His friend Rich apprehended the shooter as he died. After his death, his girlfriend posted on Facebook, “u are my home. my heart. my everything. u changed my life. u made life worth living.”

Kelly Loving, 40

After moving from Florida, Kelly was new to the Colorado scene. A nurturing soul, she was “like a trans mother” to her friends. “She was loving, always trying to help the next person out instead of thinking of herself. She just was a caring person,” her sister told the New York Times.

Ashley Paugh, 35

Ashley and her friends decided to go to Club Q after spending time shopping and getting dinner together. She was a family woman and “lived for her daughter” according to her sister. She is survived by her husband and 11-year-old child.

Derrick Rump, 38

Always bubbly and joking, Derrick had no shortage of friends in the community. He was a part owner of Club Q. “He was a kind loving person who had a heart of gold,” his mother told reporters. “He was always there for my daughter and myself when we needed him also his friends from Colorado which he would say was his family also. He was living his dream and he would have wanted everyone to do the same.”

Colorado Gives is the official donation site for the survivors and victims’ families. Please donate if you can!

And many who didn't die now have to live with permanent disability that prevents them from holding any kind of job (especially because employers are so opposed to making the work accessible).

Those who are able-bodied and still remain have left to fill the higher-paying vacancies left behind by the newly deceased/disabled.

They died when you told them they were "essential" and couldn't not work. They died when you refused them paid sick leave during a pandemic. They died because they have to work two or three jobs to make ends meet, multiplying their chance of exposure. They died because you refused to do even the most basic things like wear a mask, not go out, and get vaccinated.

They died because you killed them, America.

On this day, 2 August 1924, James Baldwin, renowned gay Black author and social critic was born in Harlem, New York City. Frustrated with endemic racism in the United States, he moved to France where he spent most of his life. However, he did return to the US during the civil rights movement and played an active role in fighting racism, despite the official movement’s homophobia, encouraging civil disobedience and taking part in the March on Washington in 1963 and the Selma march in 1965. Baldwin believed racism to be a central tool of US capitalism, telling journalist Joe Walker: “Racism is crucial to the system to keep Black and whites at a division so both were and are a source of cheap labour… The price of any real socialism here [in the US] is the eradication of what we call the race problem.” In 1968 Baldwin also pledged to refuse to pay tax in protest against the Vietnam war. For these “subversive” activities, Baldwin was subjected to illegal surveillance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who collated 1,884 pages of documents on him. This collection of writings by Angela Davis begins with the letter sent to her by Baldwin: https://shop.workingclasshistory.com/products/if-they-come-in-the-morning-angela-davis https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/2048774835307656/?type=3

"Having spent many years observing cop behavior, reading news about cops, and occasionally even asking them for help, I have come to a pretty simple but comprehensive answer: They do what is easy, and avoid what is difficult. Seen through that rubric, much cop behavior suddenly becomes much more explicable ... It is easier to arrest a child for stealing chips than it is to apprehend an armed adult shooter. It is easier for several dozen police officers to arrest two unarmed people than it is for a cop to stop any single armed person. It is easier for hundreds of cops to kettle a largely unarmed left-wing protest than it is for an entire department to stop any armed right-wingers from entering a government building. It’s easier to clear homeless encampments than it is to investigate sexual assault. It’s easier to coerce confessions than it is to solve crimes. It’s easier to try to pull a guy over than it is to offer any sort of help when he crashes his car. It’s easier to arrest a mango vendor in the subway than to stop someone from bringing a gun into the subway. It’s easier to arrest a fifth grader than it is to save one’s life."

to my fellow usamericans….in light of the supreme court overturning roe v wade, well known organizations like planned parenthood dont need your money right now - they have plenty - if you’re going to donate, donate to your local or state abortion funds

the national network of abortion funds allows you to split your donation between 91 abortion funds in the united states -  it lists every fund your donation goes to and allows you to customize the amount you give to each fund

Oliver then proceeded to detail how with $50 and knowledge of the law he was able to successfully apply online to create a debt buying company named “Central Asset Recovery Professionals,” or as Oliver put it, “CARP” named after “a bottom-feeding fish.”

After setting up a rudimentary website for CARP, the satirical, but still real company was offered a $15 million package of medical debt for $60,000.

Oliver explained that the debt was out of statute, which means it is the kind of debt that a collector can only continue to collect, but not sue the debtor for.

Then, instead of chasing down the 9,000 debtors in the debt package as a normal collection agency would, Oliver decided to stage the largest one-time giveaway in television history and work with the nonprofit RIP Medical Debt to forgive the $15 million with no consequences for the debtors.

You dont have to be rich to do a bit of this actually

RIP Medical Debt is a charity (and therefore takes donations). They buy the rights to medical debt and then forgive them. So far they’ve forgiven over 1B in medical debt.

So a little ray of hope for someone out there today.

Donating $10 buys $1,000 of medical debt. This is real, it works, and we’ve done it ourselves. You can too.

  1. Leave no online footprint of searches or purchases. Digital Defense Fund’s abortion privacy guide is your go-to resource for this. Using private browsers, two-factor authentication, encrypted messaging, strong passwords, etc. is critical. Google searches have been presented as evidence in an SMA trial before. Do not leave a digital trail.
  2. Use the medications properly to prevent interactions with healthcare providers. The pills are very effective, but they have to be used right. Carefully follow the instructions provided on the How to Use Abortion Pill website. Note that misoprostol tablets should always be taken by dissolving them under the tongue. Do NOT insert misoprostol vaginally if you are self-managing an abortion. While this is medically safe, it can leave incriminating pill remnants that can be detected in the vagina during a pelvic exam if you end up needing to seek medical care.
  3. If it’s not an emergency but you need expert health advice, use a free calling service like Google Voice to call or text the Miscarriage + Abortion Hotline at 1-833-246-2632. Medical complications are very uncommon with abortion pills, but they’re not impossible. The M+A Hotline is safe to use and is staffed by trustworthy clinicians who volunteer their time to help those who choose SMA. Do not use your own phone number to call as this will create a record that is visible to your cell service provider.
  4. Don’t disclose any information about SMA to emergency room staff if you do need to seek medical care. This is how most people who are arrested for SMA are reported. Healthcare providers are almost always who calls the police in cases of SMA criminalization. Contrary to popular belief, HIPAA does not protect your private health information from being shared with police if you are suspected of doing something that could be considered a crime. If you believe you need to seek urgent medical care, do not hesitate to go. Say “I think I’m having a miscarriage” and provide your symptoms. Do not mention any use of or purchase of abortion pills. There is no widely available test to detect misoprostol in your bloodstream. If you do not disclose it, there is no way for a medical provider to tell the difference between a medication abortion and a spontaneous miscarriage.
  5. Do not talk to the cops. Period. Do. Not. Talk. To. The. Cops. If you are questioned by police you should state, “I am exercising my right to remain silent, and I wish to speak with an attorney.” Do not speak again or nod in response to a question. Contact the Repro Legal Helpline as soon as possible for expert legal advice: 1-844-868-2812. Do not agree to questioning or speak to any law enforcement official without a lawyer present.

the best thing that we can do right now to fight for abortion rights is donating to your local abortion fund, especially in states with “trigger laws” or laws that will immediately take harsh measures to shut down abortion rights as soon as roe is overturned. If you don’t know your local abortion fund or states with trigger laws, here’s one in Texas, one in Louisiana, one in Georgia, one in West Virginia and one in Mississippi (all states with such “trigger laws”). There’s so many more beyond the handful i just listed here but times like these are the time to donate and support the incredible work that these organizations do for their communities.
