Two old test prints of a famous oinochoe which I have long since forgotten the name of… I made this one in a real rush in 2021 after not having printed in a while so - again - not perfect, but it set the tone for the kind of things I want to print!

i think we need to bring back the greek and roman unswept floor mosaic. if i cant decorate my floor with a silly little food scraps and perhaps throw in a little mosaic mouse stealing a snack then whats the POINT

i don't know who needs to hear this but literally none of the politicians active during the late roman republic had any interest in uplifting or empowering non-elites as political actors, and the political battle lines of roman politics during that (or any) period do not meaningfully map onto modern party politics as they exist in your country or mine

To be clear this post was about that and also someone who called Mark Antony a Democrat

BEHOLD these beautiful dragon-themed plates from 15th-century Spain! These most likely come from the town of Manises, which was renowned for its lusterware. This type of pottery was heavily influenced by Islamic pottery, and the Spanish artisans who made these plates included both Muslims and Christians.

But anyway, DRAGONS!

These images come from the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection on JSTOR, which includes nearly half a million open access images for everyone.
