Oh, Cameraman

@terezis / terezis.tumblr.com

Okay so apparently my experiences are not universal

Pls reblog I wanna know if remembering your first fanfic is common or not

Yeah I remembered discovering Naruto fanfiction as a teen on family vacay and promptly staying up for like 36 hours straight devouring it

the thing they don’t tell u about adulthood is that it is so hard to be able to swim in a pool. i don’t know anyone with a pool. there are public pools but how can i play mermaids by myself with one million strangers nearby. at my grown age. i am easily embarrassed and i can not stand when people look at me. hotels with day passes are so expensive. i need to become or marry rich so i can have my own personal private pool

the blightstaff ✸🪲

(for @artists-guild-of-exandria project Spells n stuff !)

[Image ID: A stylised digital illustration of Caduceus from Critical role on a black background. He has a strong stance, holding the blight staff in front of him with a stern expression. his pink hair, clothes, the silk on his arm and sashes around his waist, are blowing back from the force of the staff's spell. the crystal on top of the staff is glowing bright purple with a halo of light around it, with turquoise beetles flying around and emerging from holes in it. the staff is planted in a patch of green grass, the same green grass and pink fungi around Caduceus' feet. He also has pink lichen all over his clothes and beetle chitin armour, tabi boots and sleeves. End ID.]

“ianthe has a secret plan” ok yeah probably but it’s funnier for me to imagine she fulfilled all her dark machinations by becoming a lyctor, and is now just desperately scrambling from book to book trying to stop everyone from blowing up the solar system and ruining it for her

HAUNTED DOLL WATCH!

[Image ID: A flat colored digital drawing of Taako, Magnus and Merle from the Adventure Zone, as well as the haunted doll from the MbMbaM show. From left to right are Taako (holding the doll), Magnus and Merle.

Taako is a slim elven man with brown skin, long wavy brown hair with orange tips, blue eyes, and a lion-like tail. He is wearing a blue wizard hat with a bell and bow, a dark blue short cloak with golden stars, a blue pirate shirt, white pants, and blue pointy boots with bells at the tips.

Behind him is Magnus, a tall and muscular human man. He has medium-dark brown skin and dark wavy hair with fluffy sideburns. Over his left eye is an arrow-shaped scar, slim at the eyebrow and growing thicker below the eye. He is wearing a white t-shirt with an illustrated dog jumping over the moon. He’s wearing cargo shorts, mismatched socks and red sneakers.

All the way in the back is Merle, a short and fat dwarven man with dark skin and wavy gray hair. He has a full-length beard that’s lighter than the rest of his hair, which is held in a partial bun by a twig. He’s wearing a black shirt with floral prints, tan shorts and socks with sandals. He has a wooden arm that resembled bleached driftwood, a fang, and an otter-like tail. His eyes are green.

Taako, leading the three, is running with a frantic expression, holding a clown doll away from himself. There’ a red cord around him, which Magnus is holding in two hands. He’s looking back to Merle, who’s struggling the catch up and holding up the wrapped up cord in urgency. All three look equally terrified. The background is yellow with a cyan border. End description.

I liked it a lot!! not as much as gideon or harrow but it was def interesting!! I was very confused tho for a chunk of the ending bc wtf was even going on,, I needed to reread specifically the last few chapters a few times before I had an aha moment lol

I find myself agreeing with a lot of your thoughts,, especially a combination with alecto

overall tho- good book!! trying to get my friends to read the series haha

LOL honestly valid though, i feel like the pacing rly ramped up in the last like, third of the book. so much happens so fast

and good luck convincing your friends also!!! i think everyone should read......... the locked tomb

AU where Lucretia doesn't go through with her voidfish plan, so Lup is eventually found and Faerûn is left to their Relic War, leading to eventual shenanigans such as:

  • Faerunians figuring out the Grand Relics have a power source, and trying to extract fragments of the Light of Creation for other uses
  • Faerunian movement to fuse the Grand Relics (opposed because people are like "that's gonna be a superweapon idiot") (the Starblaster crew secretly contributes to this opposition without mentioning what else combining the relics would lead to)
  • Faerunians trace the Relics back to the Starblaster crew, creating drama
  • Angus McDonald traces the Relics back to the Starblaster Crew, creating some kind of problem
  • Faerunians trace the Relics back to Miller Labs via some comedy of evidence errors due to them working together, the Starblaster crew has to step up
  • The characters who use the relics in canon still do that, but they're working with more knowledge of the item + everybody else also can recognize it, which changes how the arcs work, if they happen at all
  • Faerunians figure out certain properties of the Relics, like the fact that you can only semi-safely use them if love motivates you, and managing to contain them / create strict usage regulations (or like, they try - the Relics make it very hard for this to work)
  • Faerun discovers Bonds and the crew has to watch a vaguely terrifying parallel to their own world unfold - Miller Labs has the crew's data on planar systems, they've figured out Bonds, and Oh Shit, You Could Make a Spaceship Out Of This
  • [two people staring at each other out the windows of their cars meme but it's the Starblaster and Faerun's First Spaceship]

Kind of a fun irony to the idea that the Light of Creation, even broken into pieces and not acting in its normal capacity, still causing a huge revolution of societal/governmental organizing, people collaborating, etc. because they need to stop it.

And maybe that's part of the power of it - that it works towards its purpose even when it's against you

ok if the ninth used two hundred children as batteries to commit a "type of resurrection" (according to john) which allowed one person to be born, and john resurrected a few million people, give or take, plus the solar system,

how did he do that. b/c the way he tells the story in ntn, the murder of the system happens immediately, then he and alecto spend some time on a dead earth, and then later he resurrects people. so it couldn't have been the system he used to do it.

did he just have enough power on his own as a perfect lyctor w alecto??? what did he use as fuel???

a thing i love about the eleventh hour red robe/magnus interaction is imagine if your mysterious seemingly-evil haunting ghost went "if you look at this information, I'll be less able to protect you" and then the information, while incomprehensible, is basically that you're in cahoots with that guy. hi, I know you care about everyone, but you're gonna make it harder for yourself if you try to remember caring about me, i love you.

Image description: tumblr tags from @juha-art reading "that's what makes barry and lucretia so similar and so sad. i love you. protecting you will be harder if you remember me. i love you." End description.

Seems like some people were into my human/america taz au so here's some taako and lup designs (taako pre-sizzle it up fiasco)

I imagine lup is working on her PhD and assisting in a lab while taako is an anthony-bourdain-esque cooking show personality (though mainly focusing on his own cooking than the traveling aspect)

I maintain that Essek agreed to teach Caleb not in spite of the 12 persuasion roll but because of it. I fully believe the roll failed. Let me elaborate.

Matt called for the roll when Caleb said that he wanted "to learn the magic of the Dynasty to better protect it from the Empire". He was basically trying to persuade Essek that his intention was Honorable and Just in regard to the dynasty.

If Essek has believed that, he wouldn't have exposed himself with what he admits is potentially treasonous behaviour by teaching him.

None of that was about attraction, funny to meme about as it is. It was about "Oh I have ulterior motives and now I know you have also ulterior motives. I can work with that."
