The Real Life Kusakabe House From Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbour Totoro
A full-scale replica of Satsuki and Mei’s house from My Neighbor Totoro was created for the World’s Fair held near Nagoya, in Aichi Commemorative Park, Japan. Hayao Miyazaki’s son Goro designed and oversaw the house’s construction. Tickets for guided tours are available.

Trace Architecture Office transforms abandoned residence into village bookstore in rural China
Trace Architecture Office (TAO), led by Hua Li, has transformed a long-abandoned residence on the outskirts of a rural village into a contemporary bookstore. Surrounded by paddy fields, the building is located on the north side of Xiadi, a village in China’s Fujian province. as the structure’s rammed earth walls remained intact, the architects were able to keep most of the house’s original architecture.

The Valea Peleş Castle (Sinaia,Romania) built between 1873 and 1914. Former summer residence of the kings, it is currently a museum. It was built in the time of King Charles I of Romania and the first building in Europe to have electricity and elevator.
