we need to talk about how doctors and ed recovery advocates so often talk about getting your period back, not being infertile, and growing your breasts and hips in order to motivate people into recovering. i’ve seen so many anorexic girls say things like “why would i want my period back?” or “i don’t want kids anyways” or “i don’t want bigger boobs” as reasons for not recovering.
how about the fact that gaining weight and eating right will clear your brain fog? how you’ll be able to think and study and be as smart as you used to be? how you’ll have enough energy to go out with friends and enough of a personality to actually maintain those friendships? why are we telling her she should recover so OTHERS can reap the benefits — so she can take care of future children, so she can please a future husband, so others can admire her body? she should be told that she is worth something, that she should recover because her life is meaningful and she deserves better.
women cult leaders are like "i am god, i have extraspiritual knowledge, take drugs, worship me as mother" and men cult leaders are like "i like having sex with children"
Anyone else tired of the 3 guy 1 girl character setup in literally every movie ever?
It’s because at roughly that ratio is where men feel that men and women are represented equally.
There was a study done and when there was 1:1 male/female the male audiences felt as though there were more too many women. In general the men studied perceived things like 3 guys to 1 girl as more representative of the world.
That disgusts me.
There have also been studies in which it was found that men think women talk much more than they actually do - if they have to share equal air time with a woman they think they’re not getting a word in edgewise.
Imagine being so used to privilege and prioritization to think that the equal treatment of others is an unfairness to you.
