i think some of you need to sit down and realize that you're not an activist if all you do is reblog posts about various issues. that doesn't make you an activist. it doesn't even make you a good person, just a more knowledgeable one if you even bothered reading the post in full
ok. you shared a post about how x thing affects y population. cool. would you give up your seat on the bus for someone who needed it more. do you volunteer. do you just treat people kindly. like no one cares if you know about this law or that atrocity, what matters is what you actually do in your community and life to make the world better and scrolling through tumblr doesn't do that one bit
people just unashamedly tweet shit like “our views on the music video is so embarrassing!!!”, “do I have to bribe you to stream?”, “we should be at 1 million views by now” bitch… go to therapy please. kpop has really destroyed and brainwashed a lot of people’s view and mindset on music and what it’s like to wholeheartedly enjoy it. listen and watch things that you enjoy not because someone has instilled this invisible DUTY for you to do so. that’s not why music was created and maybe if people acted normally we’d have a better reflection on what songs were good and which were bad :/

As a queer person, I’m appalled by the flags at Louis’ shows. No, I wouldn’t care if someone, for some reason, brought a flag just for them because it was, for some reason, one of the only places they felt safe to do so. But when there is a sea of tiny pride flags at every single show, that’s not the case. That’s not the case for all those fans. Those flags are being brought “for him,” to “show support for him.” “Support” he hasn’t asked for. “Support” he’s not showing any sign of appreciating or accepting on a personal level. And “support” that implies that whole sea of people reject his child and girlfriend’s existence. It makes me sad for him. And it makes me embarrassed for the queer “fans” that use him to project their fantasies, instead of actually appreciating him as an artist. And it enrages me to see these so-called fans bragging about it online. Bragging about denying Louis’ right to tell us his own identity. Bragging about thinking his entire existence is a lie. Bragging about blatantly disrespecting him every chance they get. The flags do not make me, a queer person, feel more comfortable and accepted at his shows. They make me feel like I’m in a room full of people that do NOT respect peoples’ rights to claim their own identities without judgment.

harry styles is a little bitch who was given everything in his career in a silver platter, oftenly at the expense of his four former bandmates, and has never had to work half as hard as niall or louis or zayn to get where he is and yet he doesn't have even the slight decency to ask people to not compare the rest of the one direction boys with him and to respect them and their careers and if y'all refuse to acknowledge that then i'm sorry y'all are fucking dumb, try developing critical thinking skills next time 💕

he was never a creative force in one direction like louis and liam were, he never had to prove himself as worthy of respect and acknowledgement as niall did, he never had to work twice as hard as everyone else to prove himself as a talented person like literally everyone else in the band did because even then, even when they were fucking children with no career he was everyone's darling.
he has two albums that are fine, they're good pop music but there's nothing groundbreaking or revolutionary about them yet he's praised as a musical icon for doing the exact same things everyone else is doing.
he got movie roles in respected films with an only acting credit in fucking iCarly because he's pretty and famous and has never had to work for a role the same way career actors have.
he's a fashion icon because he uses gucci looks that are straight out of the runway and appropriating queer culture without giving credit to people who did it before.
what has he done to be The Popstar™ that hasn't been given to him. even his record deal, he never had to struggle for it, he had a solo career lined up the moment the band broke up, so what exactly has he done to actually earn the things he has in career terms? be pretty and let people shit on the rest of his bandmates, without whom he would not have a career to begin with, that's it.
i don't trust anything i read on this site because i once saw the quote 'the moon knows that we're in love' and thought it was pretty and when i looked it up i discovered that it came from a louis/harry one direction fanfiction which caused me to almost have a stroke
