Basic Labor for dummies.
As a teen, especially if you are under the age of 16, making money almost seems close to impossible. But, it’s not. Getting some extra cash in your pocket can just take some time and effort, sometimes ALOT of effort. I’m talking about labor, the definition of hard work. These kinds of jobs are sometimes very hard and tiring, but very easy to come by. First rule of making money is asking “what do people need/want, that you can provide?”.Well, do you live in a suburb? Or does your place of living have more of a country feel to it? Both can provide jobs in the field of labor. Suburb Livers, City Folk, Yeppies….whatever people wanna call you, I’m going to tell you right here exactly what your parents have told you and probably anyone else, mow lawns! I know its been said before but it really is a great way to make some extra cash. The trick to it is, you cannot be scared or shy of knocking on your neighbors doors. Most people don’t mind and love to see kids out doing things to help themselves. Another trick is, every time you have finished a yard, ask about anything else the need done. Bushes trimmed, weed eating, edging, gutters cleaned…etc. Most will even be willing to let you use their equipment! You have to understand that people in the real world with real jobs don’t want to do any kind of labor, if they don’t have to. That’s not ALWAYS true but its about 80% of them. Remember to ALWAYS leave them with your number and tell them to call you whenever they need some more work done. Be very respectful! Odds are you will get a call back from a few of them and it will become almost like steady income. Now for the other portion of the world not living in a crowded city, you will need to follow most of the same rules, but be happy where you live because you have a slight advantage. Its pretty easy, being almost completely surrounded by farms and land to find some kind of work. Walk or ride to each individual house and just ask if they have any work the need done. Always introduce yourself first! Its a given that most of them will have something they can have you do. Remember, be respectful! That goes alot farther than you think. Also, please be safe! - Dillon
