Atmospheric VTOL by NovA29R
Gee… guys… 😅 I think I must admit to myself that it is getting obvious that I'm using this type challenge as an excuse to design more weird shape spaceships… just for the sake of spaceships … 😅😄😳 what can I say… guilty! 😆✌️
The back view of my non existing Star Wars inspired Valkyrie Class Battleship I designed and rendered for the V letter for the #36daysoftype 🌌

Hate this ship design. Mount your guns on swivels you fucking idiots, it’s space
The only conceivable explanation for this ship design is that the barrels are long and massy, mostly occupying that entire front block of the ship. The Empire’s ship designs do nothing to dissuade me of this.
But on the other hand, the Valkyries and Spartanians have much smaller guns, which as frequently evidenced can destroy a capital ship at closer ranges, so maybe it’s just that the capital ship designers prefer a frontside (analogous to broadside) method of combat?
Or, more likely than naval architects having weird preferences, the long-distance guns are much massier and harder to turret-mount.
It’s easier to handle recoil if your extremely large main gun is mounted in the exact opposite direction of the main engine.
These are particle beam canons. There would be the equivalent of a particle accelerator behind each one.
