I took my cat to the vet yesterday and the bill was $660 because we had to run some tests on him; we hadn't even gotten the results yet, I ended up having to take him to the emergency vet today. So far I'm out a few thousand dollars and may have to pay a few thousand more if he has to stay longer for recovery.

So commissions will be very much appreciated right now (info on my pinned post). Or if you have any ideas on what videos I can make to put on YouTube, let me know.

It’s okay to grieve for lost potential.

It’s okay to grieve for time spent surviving instead of living.

It’s okay to wish you could go back and change the past.

And it’s okay if you don’t feel up to it yet, but one day you’ll be able to stand up and decide to create a new future to make up for it. 💞

My room is set up again! Getting back into the swing of things and there's nothing like cleaning out my WIP folder. This is a redraw of my old Snow White and Rose Red AU that I never explored any further. I enjoyed the early ML days when Bridgette and Felix were sometimes thrown in the mix as relatives of Marinette and Adrien.

I could have sworn I posted this but I guess I dreamed it ;;

More redraws! Though I really only fixed their faces and recolored. This was from 2016 when I hit 1,000+ followers on Tumblr.

I know, I know. It's a waste of time redrawing these, but I'm sort of in a rut regarding my original stuff. I jumped the gun and went gungho into originals even though I hadn't planned enough to actually get anywhere. These are pretty mindless so they give me a chance to organize my thoughts better.

When I’m sad I think about my little Sphinx Yugi. And he makes me smile. He is my cutie patootie baby bean and I love him.

I am sad. Things are rough. Look at these old Sphinx Yugi sketches that my friend cleaned up for me and made all pretty.

Peddling my Sphinx AU again. Pwease read it. It will make me happy. It’s about two idiots in love. Just absolute whimsical shenanigans. Basically my own take on an ancient Egypt AU, except I wanted Yugi to be powerful. A lot of Ancient Egypt AUs make Yugi a slave, or in someway weak or helpless in comparison to Atem. They put him in a position of vulnerability. But I wanted to take a crack at the Ancient Egypt AU and instead make Yugi a character that is both powerful and capable, while still retaining his kindness and sincerity.

Summary: A sudden and mysterious sandstorm separates Pharaoh Atem from his priests and soldiers during a skirmish. After wandering blindly, he takes refuge in an oasis, where he wakes up the next morning quite literally on top of a Sphinx.

This Sphinx wants to be his friend though, and Atem can’t help falling for him.

I found this really important tiktok about what to do if a Jehovah's Witness or Morman missionary comes to your door:

I spent some time in a Jehovah's Witness church. They're exceptionally skilled at recruiting people into their church. (And I was an ATHEIST)

I left after a couple months, I stayed just long enough to see that they explicitly believe women are inferior to men, and of course, that homosexuality is a sin on par with murder.

The whole missionary door to door thing is NOT how Jehovah's Witnesses recruit. That is how they convince their members that the world is out to get them. One of the first things they teach is that Jesus requires you to try to convert non Christians to the faith. (They say non Christian but mean non JW.)

Then they say, "look how people treat us, just for the crime of wanting to save their soul"

They have long time church members tutor the incoming members to smooth the process over. They're trained to smooth away any doubts you may have about the church.

It is a textbook cult but because it's a Christian cult, nobody will do anything about it.

I just wanted to share, in case no one realizes how messed up JW can be, my family only left after the elders followed around my teenage aunts and other young women to "ensure they weren't sinning" and my great-grandparents STILL stayed!

Exmormon here, this is TRUE, to reiterate from satanslover above, “The whole missionary door to door thing is NOT how Jehovah's Witnesses recruit. That is how they convince their members that the world is out to get them.

The same is true of mormonism. I know how annoying the missionaries are, but please take just ten seconds to be polite to them instead, please support cult victims 💖💖

Here’s why you should not try to scare Mormons or Jehovah’s Witnesses that come knocking on your door:
It might be funny, in the moment, to say, “oh, sorry, I can’t go to church on Sundays, that’s when I sacrifice aborted fetuses to Beelzebub.” But it can be damaging in the long run to anyone who is thinking about escaping their cult. People who are in cults are told that the outside world is evil, and while they may not like conditions of the cult they’re in, they’re guaranteed that the outside world is ten times worse; and you trying to scare them away can reinforce those beliefs.
What’s recommended by cult experts (and cult escapees) is that you take the time and listen to them if you have the time. Then you can politely deny, and say “sorry, I’m not interested”, or “sorry, I’m [this other religion]”. I like to give snacks or bottled water to anyone. If it’s Jehovah’s Witness kids, I like to ask if they watch Caleb and Sophia, which is a popular Jehovah’s Witnesses cartoon.
The idea is to plant the seed in their mind that the outside world isn’t so bad and that they can leave if they want to.

“I feel the magic all around you. It’s bringing me to my knees like a wannabe, I’ve got to be chained to you.

And when you looked into my eyes felt a sudden sense of urgency. Fascination casts a spell and you became more than just a mystery.

And I think about you all the time. Is this fate? is it my destiny? Yeah I think about you all the time.”

So I was listening to Chained to You by Savage Garden and yeah…

I got the itch to doodle. So it’s Yugi dragging shadow Yami into a kiss. Based on my fanfic Chained to You.

Two reports by Alberta’s privacy commissioner found Telus Health ignored the province’s health information privacy laws when it launched Babylon — a controversial health-care app touted by the Kenney government — last year.
The reports, released in late July, found Babylon had not complied with several key parts of both the province’s Health Information Act (HIA) and Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
In particular, the commissioner found Telus collected more personal information than necessary from patients, including photos. She was also troubled that Telus used facial recognition technology without notifying the patient.
The telecommunications company has made some changes, but so far has refused to implement several recommendations that would bring it in line with Alberta’s privacy laws.

Yes, this is really a thing...

Yep, because baby formula is one of the most shoplifted things in America. Which should ALSO radicalize you.

Or... We stop shoplifting? 🤔 Are we demonizing acts to stop crimes now?

ill tear your head off your shoulders you dumb fuck

I'm all for radicalization like the government and society are fucked. But they put baby formula in locked cases because it is used to make meth. The store does this to keep an eye out if someone is buying way too much. Like waaaaay too much.

This is what imperialism and capitalism and the “war on drugs” does to people’s brains. You can see that people are so desperate to feed their babies that the people who rule your lives keep baby formula under lock and key but rather than that radicalizing you and making you want to fight for a world where no baby ever goes hungry, you justify this draconian bullshit because you’ve fallen for the propaganda that baby formula is used in some nebulous relation to “drugs” and drugs are bad so whatever inhuman monstrosity that occurs must be justifiable.

when I worked at a popular Canadian grocery store called [redacted], owned by the rich Canadian [redacted] family, we were expected to hide baby formula behind the checkout counters, leaving only pieces of paper on the shelves depicting what the products looked like.

my job was to stock the shelves, so my little rebellion was pretending that I didn't know the policy for baby formula, and putting it on the shelves anyway. I was yelled at for it.

the fact that people can't afford baby formula in the first place is horrible. the fact that corporations respond by locking it away or hiding it is disgusting.
