Hey, I was looking for reference material on Pit's costume when I came across your cosplay of him and I just wanted to say that it looks brilliant!! I was wondering if you could help me with the pattern you used. Did you use any specific examples or templates for other similar clothing? Because I've been staring at several cosplays as well as art and I can't really figure out what goes where and how. Any help you could give me would be highly appreciated!! Thank you :)

Hi! Thank you so much!

Pit's outfit is based in Greek history, so the best advice I can give you is to look at ancient clothing references, particularly the Greek chiton. I used the chiton as a base, and then used a technique called draping to get the folds in the fabric to sit the right way. There's not really a pattern because it's all rectangular pieces of fabric! Modern tailoring was not invented yet in ancient Greece, haha. Besides that, I would advise researching what kind of fabric you'll want to use. Synthetic fabrics are not historically accurate and also don't quite behave the way that i.e. linens do. The weight and structure of a fabric determine the way that it drapes and moves, and to get those nice pleats, you'll need a fabric with enough 'body'.

Hope that helps, but if you have any other questions, just let me know!

We completely forgot to post about this on our blog! Everything has been so busy!!! :O

So a few weeks ago we won the cosplay preliminaries contest for GICOF! We did a performance from Assassin’s Creed with Kassandra and Evie Frye!

Now we have the honour of performing as these amazing assassins again in Seoul, South-Korea as Team Netherlands! And we’re traveling to Seoul tomorrow! We can’t wait to see the city, the events and meet all the other teams! :D

I honestly believe you would look absolutely amazing cosplaying as Mercy and Moira, and thus bring the Moircy ship to life in the most marvelous way! Come to think of it, you could even mold the Overwatch lore and backstory to your liking with a Combat Medic Ziegler & Blackwatch Moira cosplay.

Awhh thank you so much for believing in us! Those skins are actually the ones we wanted to do! I am super in love with Mercy's Combat Medic, but it is a bit too "sweet" for me. But then Blackwatch Moira was released and I was like OH GOD YES and then Liza can do Mercy and it would be so much fun aahhhh 😁😁 Anyhow THANK YOUU ❤❤

You can still cosplay as Pharah! Just don't darken your skin and you'll be fine. (See Mirrorbright Cosplay and rachasakawa.) And besides, Pharmercy already has a lot of awesome cosplayers. So why not join the ranks of ReaganKathryn, Jessica Nigri and Mica Burton and all of the other great cosplayers who love this ship! And P.S: The only difficult thing with Pharah would be her armor. But I believe in you. Since you pulled off Dragon Symm, you might be able to do this too. You can do it!

I looked up the names that you mentioned (aside from ones I already follow haha) and they all look wonderful! :D I actually really love seeing spins on cosplays with different backgrounds or genders! For me personally though, Pharah’s skin and features are part of why she’s so beautiful and it’s part of her identity, so I would be sad and a bit insecure if that was missing from my cosplay? So then I’d rather support darker cosplayers doing Pharah, instead of doing it myself. Does that make sense?

Your Overwatch cosplays are just wonderful! Out of curiosity, seeing that you have already cosplayed as Mercy, have you ever thought about also cosplaying as Pharah? As to then embody the Pharmercy ship?

Thank you so much! We absolutely love the PharMercy ship, but since Liza and I are both quite pale, neither of us feel really confident that we could do Pharah justice, even though I love her style and armors. :(

[ Luckily we’re also fans of Moira x Mercy so who knows what the future might hold ;) ]
