There's actually a reason that the trope of making a female assassin or female warrior in a video game or comic or action series scantily clad but justifying it as "but she uses it to distract her male enemies!!" is mostly something you only see from male writers and artists and also something that's long been denounced by feminists as misogynistic and objectifying regardless of what "reasoning" is given.

Other feminist writers who actually hold doctorate degrees on feminist subjects and are actually published writers have written on this better than I ever could, but it's a patriarchal myth that women secretly hold so much power and control over men by using sex and seduction. It's a myth that men use as a justification for their misogyny, men who buy into that myth use it at best as a justification to be suspicious of women and at worst to be outright violent towards women.

It's also blatantly false that using nudity or sex appeal to distract men would work in IRL combat because we know that IRL men have no issue with violently murdering nude or partially nude women. Women are murdered by their boyfriends or husbands while she's not wearing any clothes all the time, her nudity sure didn't save her or 'distract' him from violently murdering her. Also think of the high rate of violence and murders against women in the sex industry, most of the women murdered in the sex industry are nude or partially nude while they're murdered by clients or pimps, and their nudity or partial nudity sure doesn't save them by being from being violently murdered by being 'distracting' to the heterosexual men who murder them.

Every time I'm with my aunt shes listening to a song that is to some degree about ppl wanting to fuck a woman, or a woman sexualizing herself or any of the shit I mentioned above about degrading women. its very uncomfortable but also u start to realize how these songs are part of every day life for everybody, little kids hear these songs on the radio and learn the words and it forms their impressions on women and gender roles, these ideas are present in every moment of our lives. There is this style of videos I’ve been seeing lately where some guy doing “street interviews” will ask a woman a question about her type “what do you think about bald men, fat men, short men” “what’s the biggest turn off for you” and I want every woman to look at the comments and realize this is a way for men to bond. They do not give a shit. The person either wants her to be a cool girl and be all like every goblin is precious. Or he wants her to actually be honest so then the scrotes online can be openly misogynistic and bond with each other. I saw one recently where this woman was asked about bald men. And she said it must be sad, but they have xyz options. And the dude replied with “nice nose job” she said thanks. The comments were so happy he brought it up and were making fun of her. But she didn’t have a double standard. She thinks she should use surgery and different treatments to achieve a look she considers attractive. She expects a man to go through the same lengths. You can see how much he also wants to make women believe that there are no better men than him- so that they must settle and follow those principles. Also, “get scared and get it done” is so disgusting beyond words.

This is a feature, not a bug, of BDSM culture. They want it so that women are beaten down, exploited, and cast aside under the pretence of “it was just BDSM!”. It’s a ploy for men to get what they want free of charge and scorn.

"Not all women" doesn't exist. If a woman does something stupid men are quick to say she represents all women. They'll immediately make blanket statements about us, hiding behind a "joke" or being totally serious.

Say a woman is playing a video game in a team full of men. If she gets the lowest score at the end, men will think: this is further proof that women are inferior to men. And the next time a woman finds herself in their team she will be kicked out. Because one woman is all women. We are not individuals. If she gets the best score though, she will be seen as exceptional "not like other girls". It's a lose-lose situation. All women know this. You know that if you mess up you will make all women look bad. That's an incredible amount of pressure. Women in STEM fields are especially impacted by this.

For men it's literally the opposite. When men do bad things we are immediately told not to make any sort of generalization. It's "not all men are like that". Even when billions of men make misogynistic jokes, you are still not allowed to say men are misogynists. Even when men commit most horrendous crimes, you are still not allowed to talk about male violence. If a man does something stupid no one says: this is men. If a man loses a game against a woman no one will claim it's proof that men are inferior. It's just one man. However if he wins it proves that men are better than women and that women should stop playing.

Furthermore, the only time you are allowed to generalize about men is to excuse their behaviour. As in "boys will be boys", "oh darling, all men are like that", "it's in men's nature so we need to work with it."

It's the only social class that benefits from this, as far as I'm aware. The only social class for which people will immediately become angry and jump to the defense, not allowing any form of general observation let alone criticism and discrimination, stressing that men are all different individuals.

No other group is treated this favorably. For example, if an arab person commits a crime it's "arabs are savages go back to your country". So we end up with people living their lives trying desperately not to feed the stereotypes. Black women trying never to appear angry, fat people not eating in public, gay people not talking about sex, women not talking at all.

But men get to live utterly unconcerned with what other men do. No matter how frequent, no matter the scale, no negative generalization is allowed. It must be really nice to live that.

Also shows why men automatically assume women are in lower-paying and less appreciated jobs immediately. I've heard so many women say that men assumed they were talking to nurses, receptionists, or some random staff member when in reality they were talking to an actually qualified female in a high-position.

They think all women must be in jobs that come below men, so they automatically assume the women they're talking to must be in a relatively lower position because women are not seen as individuals who can be different than the silly misogynistic stereotype.

Men just reversed the gender of what women said as if it has the same ground and meaning. These men don’t actually have any points to make, they just want to argue and disagree with women.

Hell, I just rewatched the original L word (which aired in the early 2000s) and there are multiple episodes that have female characters expressing disgust over a male’s porn use—including straight characters who treat the discovery of porn use by their male partners as a total dealbreaker! I remember similar plotlines on Sex and the City and other iconic shows from the 90s/early 2000s, too. Porn would never ever be presented as a niche weird/gross proclivity in a tv script today… and yet it regularly was discussed and portrayed as such in media as recently as, like, 2006.

Of course porn didn’t used to be normal. Even fairly recently, porn being “normal” meant that you’ve seen racy photos on occasion (involving partial or full nudity) of carefully posed women. When Friends was on the air, this meant Playboy magazines and softcore videos with simulated sex acts. You certainly didn’t see sex acts being performed in detail, let alone some of the material that’s now considered “standard”. Masturbating to high definition videos, for hours every single week (usually every single day) was not even possible before smartphones and high speed internet, let alone normal. It’s scary how quickly it became completely normal to do this behavior, and how quickly it became accepted by men of all political backgrounds.

You’d expect liberal men to object to having their sexuality hijacked by major corporations, the dark money, the problematic nature of the material (the racist titles, the homophobic ones, not to mention, why are videos titled things like “slut learns a lesson” ok but “baby it’s cold outside” should be taken off the radio?) Porn is bigger than the entire US motion picture industry. They make more money than MLB, NFL, and the NBA combined. These are all billion dollar industries, and porn dwarfs them. You’d expect the kind of men who call for amazon boycotts and protesting hate speech to abhor this industry.

You’d expect conservative men to object to the morality of sexually lascivious material being normalized and consumed, particularly by children. You’d expect them to object to young men preferring unnatural images and sex acts over real relationships. You’d also expect them to be against masturbation, considering many major faiths have rules against it.

But both groups of men, with seemingly disparate values, have both twisted their beliefs into a logic pretzel that lets them consume porn and publicly defend it. They will outright admit that they don’t care if the porn they’re watching is nonconsensual, if it features an underage person, if it actually injured someone to make. They don’t care because none of them see women or girls as human beings. Go to any male-dominated social media site and read what they have to say about the women actors in porn. And yet the only people who are viewed as “hateful” are women who object to porn on feminist grounds. It’s completely insane.

I’m also so sick of the fact that the softcore simulated sex is in almost every show these days. Like who wants to watch a movie with their parents and see a full on sex scene? I honestly don’t think they ad anything to the story, but still.

They don’t care because none of them see women or girls as human beings. Go to any male-dominated social media site and read what they have to say about the women actors in porn. And yet the only people who are viewed as “hateful” are women who object to porn on feminist grounds. It’s completely insane.
