hate hate HATE how every mainstream movie and show these days is so oversaturated with self-awareness. characters regularly point out the absurdity of their circumstances, the fourth wall no longer even exists, no media takes itself SERIOUSLY anymore and i'm exhausted. it's only funny when it's UNCOMMON, dinguses. if every fucking movie is full of cringe attempts at a self-aware style of humour that stopped being funny five years ago, then guess what? audiences get bored. let movies fucking exist in their worlds!! stop fearing being called "cringe" for being earnest!! the alternative is so much worse and everyone can see it!!! you have no confidence in your abilities and it SHOWS!!!

It feels like every ten seconds a new marvel movie appears on the horizon and gets hyped up into infinity with constant ads and merch and fans saying “yeah I know marvel isn’t that good but this movie is going to be legendary and relevant bro I promise” and then it comes out plays in theaters for a while and is literally never mentioned again. When you treat your special effects team right and give them enough money, you get a visual masterpiece like The Sandman.

It's so strange that no one on here is talking about how the intro to marvels secret invasion was created entirely by ai. This is the first time a major studio has done this. Just think of how big the MCU is. Think of how many people watch these shows and will be inspired by the opening and create their 'own' shows and openers consisting of stolen artwork. AI is taking the place of actual human artists. It isn't a what if anymore. It's real.

And it's completely terrifying.

I get that they have to get rid of old guard marvel characters because the actors are like moving on with their careers and shit but how come the men get to go home to their families, have happy endings, and the women have to die for shock value or to move the plot along?

it’s like I know they wouldn’t have written a canon destiel relationship well I know they would have done an awful job portraying a gay relationship between two mains on cw show supernatural. realistically I know they would have tried to do contrived relationship drama and stereotypes and just complete mishandling of the whole deal. but it’s not about that. it’s about me being right and getting to be right for three whole seasons. the euphoria is in the vindication. that’s why I deserved canon destiel in season 13. also obviously we did not get that so in my secret good reality that lives in my head I get to pretend that if it had gone canon they would have just had the love confession and kiss and carried on as normal, which there’s a whole thing to get into re: how lgbt relationships are portrayed and double standards and censorship but this way we could say that hey they’re obviously together now and huh. they’re acting the way they always have. interesting :) and also let’s be real they acted married in season 13 anyways. or in my special special fantasy reality I can pretend that they would have handled the relationship with some modicum of competence and that I would have got to see the occasional affection between them like kiss or perhaps even hold hand :) jensen and his bank account could have handled it

it’s just like. dean kissing cas post confession couldve worked as an impulse and stays true to who they are..... dean can’t process the weight of what’s happening but he understands the stakes so he moves on pure instinct and desperation (he can’t say what he needs to but he can show it) and cas gets irrefutable proof that he can HAVE exactly what he wanted and he can feel it without a doubt and without any of the misunderstandings in communication that so often plague them!!!!! dean can’t unpack things at a pace where a verbal response was possible but he was absolutely dying to make cas understand, and cas didn’t fucking deserve to leave dean thinking he was alone in his feelings. anyways they should’ve kissed and jensen and dean absolutely would’ve filmed it. i’m done now.
