shout out to people who's family isnt entirely bad or entirely good, but something in between and you dont know how to feel about them. you feel angry but you also feel guilty, because you know they genuinely love and care about you, but sometimes they show it in a way you know its not okay. your feelings are valid, your anger and sadness and grief are valid, and you dont have to prove this to no one. bigger shout out to those with memory issues who know something isnt right but can't recall all of the bad events, only the feelings, which only increases the guilt.
Just to make this very, very clear. Every act of referring to any form of sexuality as degenerate is nazi rhetoric. Not like “oh crypto fash dogwhistle”, no I mean actual NSDAP politics that were used to put us in concentration camps.
It doesn’t matter if you mean only kinksters or whatever. You are still using their rhetoric and to do so while claiming to advocate for us is at best severely misguided, at worst actively vile.
Do not, under any circumstance, spread the use of ideas to describe sexuality that have been coined to eradicate us.
Do not normalize the way nazis referred to us, just by picking another target. You are still empowering the people who want to put us against the wall.
To clarify this for people who just don’t get it: degenerate does not just mean “gross”. It means “showing decline from a higher civilization”. Ask yourself – really ask yourself - what the fuck that could possibly mean in the context of sexuality.
Do you really think that two people doing cringey roleplay are a part of a broader trend that is undermining Western civilization? Do you really want to associate with people who do?
More to the point, do you really want to feed into the rhetoric that the main threat we’re facing is “the decline of Western civilization” in the first place? Who else are people concerned might be “undermining the West”? Who else are you implicitly singling out as your enemy by perpetuating a narrative in which (white) “Western” influence is falling across the board, and in which that’s an existentially bad thing?
This is like Nazi rhetoric 101, guys, and you need to stop uncritically parroting it, holy shit.
Housekeepers and Janitors Need Praise As Unsung but Very Much Important
Remember when the NRA told doctors to “stay in their lane” RE gun violence and #thisismylane trended as a result?
One of the tweets I saw was a surgeon who’d taken a picture of her OR, having just finished surgery on a young man who’d been shot. Blood. Everywhere.
This bloke retweeted her, mentioning that he worked as a cleaner in a hospital and had had to clean up stuff like this and worse.
Surgeon replied to him (and went up *greatly* in my estimation) and, despite living in different countries, thanked him for his hard work.
I can’t find the tweets sadly, but hers went something like;
“Without a clean and sterile operating room to work in, my team, our skills and the best medicines in the world are next to useless. You are doing invaluable work, without which my work would be impossible.”
WITHOUT PEOPLE DOING THE CLEANING, SOCIETY WOULD GRIND TO A HALT WITHIN DAYS
Every garbage workers’ strike shows it.
Give them the respect they damn well deserve.

Happy pride I’m Cerise, a disabled black nonbinary/lgbt person currently stuck in an abusive living situation and need financial help to cover my basic immediate needs such as my medications, food & rent, and transport to my appointments. I’ve estimated that I need about $680 to cover my needs for a month, and until I’m in a stable situation, I’m going to need as much help as I can get. Without getting too into details I’m currently completely dependent on an abusive parent who’s now giving me grief over having to financially support me plus I’m at risk for racial abuse and harassment living in rural Tennessee.
