In 2012 over $100 billion was owed in unpaid child support and according to the federal Office of a child Support Enforcement $108 billion in total back payments were owed to parents with custody of children in 2009.

According to a U.S Census report from 2015 just 43.5 perfect of custodial parents get the full support they are assigned while more then 30 percent don’t get anything at all.

Just getting a judge to issue an order for support isn’t a guarantee considering a lot of individuals just offer up a defense of for example job loss. There is also the option to sign away their parental rights to child, though that involves court and legal fees.

Also take into account there are so many deadbeat parents not paying support, a lot of cases are stuck in limbo and not acknowledged therefore giving them an out of not having to pay even if it racks up payments over time.

So your rebuttal doesn’t really hold water when dads are clearly making the choice not to pay support and getting away with it.

Also, and more importantly, there is a very REAL difference between a legal financial obligation and the right to bodily integrity and medical consent. 

The government CAN compel you to pay a financial obligation (taxes and fines are examples of this.)

The government CAN NOT and SHOULD NOT be able to compel you to use your body and organs against your will. The government shouldn’t be able to FORCE you to go through a medical procedure against your will, and they shouldn’t be able to FORBID you from having access to a medical procedure. The government shouldn’t have the authority to use your body for the benefit of another person against your will and without your consent. 

Your body is intrinsically different than your bank account. There are whole different realms of ethics that deal with each. 

Also consider: there are plenty (I would go so far as to say most) of pro-choice people who also believe in making changes to the social safety net which would render child support obsolete. This is not the gotcha y'all think it is.

Absolutely. A Basic Income system, especially one that has a child allotment that goes to the custodial parent, would essentially eliminate the need for child support.

This is the biggest attack on my character I have ever seen

The first Pride was a riot.

We all need to remember this.

Today is June 28, 2020 which marks the 51st anniversary of the start of the Stonewall Riots.

Marsha P. Johnson, Stormé DeLarverie, Sylvia Rivera and many other members of the LGBTQ+ community at the time fought for us. They fought so that our generation could live safely and comfortably as our true selves.

They rioted from June 28 until July 3. That's SIX whole days of rioting and looting. SIX. WHOLE. DAYS.

So, in the wake of the current BLM movement, it seriously astounds be how people, especially LGBTQ+ people are against the riots, looting and most of all the movement itself.

We got our rights because these people fought for it. They rioted until the tides turned in our favor, and yet you condemn those who participate in the current protests? And yet you condemn the BLM movement?

May I remind you that Stormé DeLaverie, a BLACK butch lesbian threw the first punch at the police? May I remind you that Marsha P. Johnson, a BLACK trans woman rioted there as well?

Y'all got to stop acting like Pride is just a big party. Yes, it is a celebration of who we are and where we came from, but it sure as hell isn't a party. We celebrate Pride to remember those events.

The first Pride was a riot.

Pride IS a riot.

Deal with it.
