it was very bold of lok to introduce wu so gratingly but cater his design specifically to me
it really is something else to grow up afraid to eat mom’s food at school or wear a bindi or mehendi outside or wear a lehenga or sari or chudidhar for parties or speak in my mother tongue…like that was my entire childhood and its still my life. but then you turn around and see white people go to indian restaurants and saying omg i love indian food, or seeing them wear bindis and henna and saris and talk about being “cultured”. and using our languages as their aesthetic, or using them as some sort of godly symbol. growing up a poc in a western world really fucks you up and somehow it’s still our job to educate white people when they’ve spent their entire lives putting us down and stealing our lives.

like maybe it’s just me being a bitter poc but it’s such bullshit that white people steal everything from us from achievements to technology to our people. and then they don our clothes, eat our food and sing our songs and teach or erase our languages, then turn around and berate us for the way we live our lives as if we’re the ones who stole from them. we don’t speak english because we stole it from you we speak it because you stole our history. we don’t wear your clothes because we like them better we wear them because you killed our people. so many poc don’t even know their family history because of what white people have done to us. i don’t know my grandparents’ last names and i know nothing about my family beyond my grandparents, thanks to the british. when i make fun of a white person for using my culture for an aesthetic, i am allowed to be angry. i am allowed to be an asshole. it’s long overdue.
but anyways yeah i am gonna remake later today so its nice that “chant ominously in tamil” was the way im gonna send this blog off <3

loathe as i am to say this, h*rry p*tter can be kind of useful. like, whenever i meet someone in their mid-thirties who thinks that snape was “very sexy” and “morally correct, actually,” i INSTANTLY know that i’m dealing with a total dumbass. it’s efficient

real talk something i have to keep learning and i think a lot of you guys are like me: your friends shouldnt be intimidating. if you see all of your friends chillin in a discord vc, dont just sit there and think damn they are all hanging out without me theyre playing games without me they dont want to talk to me. just join the vc homie. if they didnt want you to talk to them they would privatly call. if u wanna play a gane and nobody has asked u to play a game that just means u can be the one to ask to play a game. a majority of the time ur friends are not sitting there thinking about how much they dont want to hang out with you
also its ok to be the one to initiate all conversations. i love talking to my friends but its not on my mind 24 hours a day. if someone sends me a message im like oh yeah my cool friend who i like messaged me we get 2 talk now
lok getting on netflix has caused stan twitter to explode and its sooo funny to me. a third of them are hating on mako every time he breathes, a third of them are making fancams of mako every time he breathes, and a third of them are going “wow how did i not ship wuko before now 👀” and im sitting here having a million different flashbacks to 2015
