What if the dark masters and Myotismon were the original digidestined digimon?
So this is a AU/headcanon idea I had for a while, because in the original show (at least the Dub) Gennai mentions the original digidestined not Tai and the others but ones before them.
(I always thought that the subway car and stuff like the vending machines and phones were all pulled through with the original digidestined)
What if the dark masters were those digidestined partners but they couldn’t beat Apocalypsemon, their digimon became corrupted and the digidestined either 1) were forced out of the digital world with their digivices broken and no way to return and help or 2) the extra angsty option killed by Apocalypsemon.
So the dark masters and Myotismon are corrupted and can’t even remember their partners… but
MetalSeadramon remembers that power and strength is all that matter, he doesn’t remember the quite shy child who he taught to stand up for themselves and who he scarified himself to protect.
Machinedramon remembers strategies and winning at any cost, he doesn’t remember the child who he played games with and taught him all the strategies they knew, the one he came up with new strategies with to try and save the world.
Puppetmon remembers he did have a friend and he wants to play with someone, he doesn’t remember the neglected child who was so happy to be able to play with someone and promised they’d be best friends forever.
Piedmon remembers performance and the joy of the fighting, he doesn’t remember, the child who loved performing like him who he encouraged to follow their dreams, the partner he fought with and for.
Myotismon remembers blue eyes always so strong and determined and filled with life, and when a Salamon later Gatomon looks at him with eyes so similar his head hurts and he hates those eyes, doesn’t remember who those eyes belonged to his partner.(I feel that even if the other digidestined did survive Myotismon partner is most likely dead)
So yeah I do have some idea for what reunions would be like between them (both for it they died or if they survived) on more on my idea for the characters of the original digidestined, so if people are interested let me know and I’ll post more, apologises for all the angst.

I do, nonnie! But they'll mostly be Kaname/Zero fics, that's my VK otp. And mostly long fics since I just love long fics the best. Sorry for the wait, I had to refresh my memory and check my ereader’s fic folder. So, here we go.
Crimson Door, Blood Moon and Secrets in the Dark and all fics of Blackened Wing’s AU universe. I would suggest reading three main fics in this particular order and then reading smaller ones however you please (they’re mostly missed scenes and side stories and they don’t impact the main plot much; my favorite is Five Hundred Miles, aka the jungle survival story). Anyone who had read something in VK probably had already read this, since it’s the fic(s) that kinda formed kaze fandom. But still, they should be here just in case someone somehow missed them.
That’s a canon divergence AU that forks from the canon on rather early chapters, so many latest canon plot twists don’t happen here (Kaname is not Kuran the Ancestor but young orphaned Kuran heir and Yuuki is not a vampire/his relative, from big ones) and many things are also unique to this universe. Which makes it so delightful, but also sucks because you won’t find it anywhere else. And I kinda like how this universe unfolds more than canon one. It’s pretty slowburn at first and then has plenty of smut later on (and what a smut! if you need a finest vampire smut, it’s the right choice, everything that could be done with one’s neck/teeth/blood is done here and what couldn’t is done too lol). Relationship is mostly m/m, but the story goes through f/m/m threesome phase at some point (there is no f/m/m smut in major fics but it’s present in a couple of smaller ones). I personally hate threesomes tbh, but here is the rare case when I don’t mind, it adds to the story and isn’t so big too. “Secrets in the Dark” is unfinished but the main plot is already over at that point, so it doesn’t leave you hanging. Though there are unresolved mysteries left for a sequel that didn’t happen, but you can read it as finished too. Sorry for babbling but I just love it. It’s not without flaws ofc, don’t let me raise your expectations sky-high, but read it if you didn’t.

It’s a family drama set like 30 years into future. Zero marries human Yuuki, they get their happily ever after, but after a few dozen happy years Yuuki dies from an illness. Zero doesn’t really have reason to live anymore, and he doesn’t want to be Kaname’s charity case but Kaname can’t let him go. So there is a widower-with-kids Zero and Kaname who pined after him for years.

You know something I love? The idea of stolen destiny in P5.
Like, Akechi always being destined to be a wild card, but because of Yaldabaoth’s tampering, his destiny is stolen away from him. Joker’s strength comes from his bonds and friends, but Akechi was given a power that didn’t require it, so he had no drive to form bonds (compounded by his trauma meaning he’s fucking BAD at it).
And it’s a domino effect, because there were people meant to be Crow’s teammates, destined to be his allies, that never awaken to their own power because of this. And of course some who were meant to be Crow’s allies became Jokers, but there are three that never did, something Igor laments to Lavenza sometimes.
There’s Mishima, who holds a latent persona of one of the most powerful healers to ever exist, Asushunamir. It’s a persona Igor hasn’t seen in a millennia, wasted potential Mishima will now never realize because he never got the chance. (Though he does comment to Lavenza that he’s glad the Thieves were able to talk down his Shadow, because actually fighting it likely would have gone badly for the sheer amount of power and being borderline undefeatable due to self-healing and holy spells hitting anyone on the team pretty hard.) Instead, he’s been relegated to the back line, playing an important role, sure, but always underappreciated and vulnerable all the same.
Hifumi as well played an important role to Joker’s story, but never realized her potential either, through her persona, Scheherazade. A master of buffs and lightning magic would have benefited them greatly, but she would never be aware of it now.
And Shiho, poor Shiho, she was unallowed to even help Joker. Atalanta has always been a powerful persona when it came to physical attacks, able to brutalize an enemy and highly detriment any who survive the onslaught. Sleep, Fear, Forgetfulness, Rage, Brainwashing, Dizziness, Confusion, Despair, all would be hers to inflict upon her unfortunate targets. All power stolen from her by a cheating god.
And Akechi, all of his Wild Card powers to adopt personas for his own, all the friendships and allies he would make, taken from him before he had a chance. Igor wondered what might’ve happened, how things might’ve turned out had Akechi been allowed his true power. Things certainly would have been more frantic with two groups of Phantom Thieves running around, if they could not resolve to work as allies instead of rivals.
But not even Igor can turn back the hands of time. So he muses, and he waits, for the next time he is needed, for the next Wild Card to enter the Velvet Room.
Although I've only made one casebound so far, I've recieved multiple requests to make a tutorial. And well, I'm not that good. But I can share some of the online resources that have helped me.
DAS bookbinding - lots of bookmaking methods, explained in detail.
Annesi Bindings - mostly casebinding, and other useful things.
Dan Siebel's kettle stitch tutorial -short video on how to do a kettle stitch. Filmed up-close.
Renegade Publishing - a group of independent fanbinders. They have a discord (though it's 18+) and answer binding related questions on the blog.
Armoredsuperheavy - founder of renegade publishing. Maintains multiple docs about the full process of making a book.
Hedgehog-moss's post about bookbinding - beginner information, links to resources
r/bookbinding - a large community of people. You can share your progress, ask questions. You may get criticism though. Expect brutal honesty.
Alternative bookbinding supplies - We don't all have the correct supplies lying around. It's fine.
How to: Headbands - article about sewing headbands.
Don't forget to use acid free materials! Acidic paper/glue decays with time, causing your book to turn yellow and fall apart. PVA and weath paste are commonly used adhesives.
