Wheeling Police are
investigating a robbery that occurred around 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Woodsdale
Marathon Gas Station - located at 831 National Road. Employees inside told
police that a tall thin black male, possibly in his mid 30’s or 40’s , wearing
a white shirt and dark jeans walked into the store and robbed the clerk. A
weapon was not displayed. The suspect was last seen running away on Orchard
Lane. Anyone who may have information can call Wheeling Police at 304-234-3664.

Sound the Alarm.
The City of Wheeling has been selected by the American Red
Cross as a 2020 Sound the Alarm city which will make residents and those in the
surrounding Ohio County communities eligible to receive smoke alarms and have
them installed free of charge. Wheeling, along with Morgantown and Huntington
are just three West Virginia cities of the 133 chosen this year for the 2020
Sound the Alarm campaign. The Red Cross, along with the Wheeling Fire
Department, Ohio County volunteer fire departments and volunteers will install
free smoke alarms in the greater Wheeling area on Saturday, April 18.
Veteran Needs Help.
Team RWB is organizing a rally that will be held in
Bridgeport by the high school on Feb. 18 at 5 p.m. prior to the school board
meeting. This is to show support for the WWII veteran who owns property the BOE
wants to seize via eminent domain for a football stadium. On said property he
has developed several business services serving the local community. All are
encouraged to attend to show support for this veteran.
Chick-fil-a at The Highlands is scheduled to open on Feb.
27, and the first 100 people over the age of 18 will receive free food for an
entire year. The event will begin at 6 p.m. on Feb. 26 with a “camp out,” and
the new eatery will open at 6:30 a.m.

Wheeling Symphony Orchestra (WSO) announces the next
concert of its 90th season, Soulful – A Celebration! It’s a show
