What is veganism: A way of living that seeks to avoid all forms of animal exploitation as far as is possible and practicable.
Who can be vegan: Everyone with moral agency.
This doesn’t mean that every single vegan will be able to avoid animal exploitation to the same extent. This does mean that everyone with moral agency can and should do their personal best (i.e what is possible and practicable) to avoid all forms of animal exploitation if they are morally opposed to animal cruelty/abuse.
Pepper (pictured uses a mixed pepper grinder of freshly cracked pink, black, white, and green peppercorns)
Red pepper flakes (you can sub any pepper situation, cayenne, paprika, etc.)
Lemon juice (you can also add the zest if you like)
Freshly chopped parsley, dill, and thyme
Knife for preparing veggies (pictured bought from small town chef store)
Two pots (pictured is Rachel Ray brand)
One cooking utensil of choice (pictured is bamboo spoon)
Citrus zester (optional)
Table spoon measure
Add pasta to pot with water, just covering surface, add salt and olive oil. Let come to rolling boil on high heat, once achieved lower heat to simmer while completing sauce.
Add oil and butter to medium/large sauce pan (or skillet), on medium high heat once butter is frothing slightly, add all fresh veggies including herbs,
Once some color has developed add all liquid ingredients and other seasonings, let simmer on medium heat
When some liquid has been cooked off, incorporate the solid ingredients and melt in the cheese
Add any remaining ingredients and pasta cooking water to desired texture (should remain creamy, not loose, but easily covers all pasta) (reserve remaining pasta water for constituting other sauces, or let cool and use for watering house plants) let cool and enjoy!
This recipe can be easily adapted for preference or requirement. It works very well with kale (or spinach) and red peppers, broccoli and cheddar, really any combination you like!
I just wanted to give you a quick fuck you to all the “woke” racist anti vegans I’ve seen through out the years on here. Those who say veganism is racist and a white thing. When you say that you erase vegans of color from the movement. You show you think poc can’t be compassionate and kind. You use poc as shields to defend your own guilt about your contribution to animal abuse. I’m black and I’m vegan and I fight for animals who don’t have a voice. I am not here for you to use as “woke points” to make yourself feel better when being called out.
“There is no ethical consumption under capitalism” is a weak excuse to continue consciously supporting abhorrent industries and corporations. Sure capitalism has been inbedded into our lives but that doesn’t mean we shouldnt try???? That’s exactly what they want, for us to think they are our only option. It’s not true, do more research, find better options, and stop using this dialogue to excuse your apathy.
It is so odd how often people go out of their way to tell vegans that they’re eating meat… It’s like they think we don’t know that other people eat animals. Do they think we have all been raised in isolated vegan communes? That we’re all just blissfully unaware that billions of animals are being eaten right this minute? Do they think that telling us they’re eating a steak is going to upset us any more than almost everyone we know doing the exact same thing in front of us every single day?
This is SO good and SO easy to make! And the calories cant even compare to store bought brands. It took 10 minutes total! You can use it for coleslaw, potato salad, sandwiches, and as the base as different sauces.
What is an example of forcing an opinion on others: Paying for non human animals to be brutally exploited, abused and slaughtered because you view your own choices/personal pleasure as more important than the lives of other sentient beings and their right to live free of suffering and human use.
What isn’t an example of forcing an opinion on others: Advocating on behalf of the victims of animal exploitation by pointing out that paying for/supporting the needless exploitation, abuse and slaughter of sentient beings is unethical, and trying to change the hearts and minds of others.
hummus or any vegan vegetable paste (I took soy paste with tomatoes)
handful of spinach
1,5-2 tbsp agave or maple syrup
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp chili paste (I highly recommend gochujang, Korean chili paste)
1,5 tsp rice vinegar
1,5 tsp sesame oil
chili flakes (optional)
2. Mix all ingredients for the sauce and whisk until smooth.
3. Cut tofu into strips and marinade pieces of tofu in the sauce for 10-15 minutes. Fry tofu in a frying pan. Coat with the remaining sauce.
4. Fry tofu on both sides for around 5 minutes.
5. Spread hummus (or paste of choice) and mashed avocado on tortilla*. Place tofu and spinach on top. I sprinkled sesame seeds because I like it and let’s be honest sesame seeds give extra 100 points to any dish.
*I prefer to warm my tortilla before on a big dry frying pan.
6. Roll your wrap as tight as possible and cut in half. Or don’t just eat 😅
Please remember that before you make a post, that Veganism is this
not whatever you think it is, because every post non vegans make about Veganism goes on the idea that vegans think Veganism is cruelty free, that Veganism is a diet, among a lot of other things that are blatantly wrong
And I don’t want to hear a single white person using poc, migrant workers,, and indigenous people in their arguments, just stfu
Everyone can go vegan BECAUSE being vegan ISNT about being perfect
its about doing the most you can do given your situation
And no vegan food isn’t fake meats and cheeses, it includes all plant based foods like bread and beans and rice and pasta.
Don’t bring up Quinoa, which mostly non vegans eat, that article was officially debunked by the same people who ran it years ago
Seriously, whatever you are thinking of posting just don’t, or say you have questions, but don’t make a long ass post of shit that has been gone over with you guys a million goddamn times over what, the 9 years I’ve been vegan, because then I have to see it on my dash and have to scroll through it and I dont think my eyes can take anymore rolling
So please, if you have questions, just make a post saying that. Then someone can private message you or something and you can ask questions
Writing vegan posts is honestly exhausting. You spend 3 hours writing and rewriting 3 sentences because if you write even one word slightly ambiguously suddenly you hate fat people, want poor people who can’t go vegan to starve, poisoned their water supply, burned their crops, and delivered a plague unto their houses.
Like seriously, let us vent and talk sometimes without having to write a 5-paragraph disclaimer
on each post personally apologizing to everyone for every bad vegan out there,
assuring you that no, we’re not one of “those” vegans, and that we know not everyone can be vegan.
Exam is officially over! I have two months before the next semester starts and I honestly have no idea how to spend the time productively 🙃 I made chocolate and pb chia pudding for my iftar today, paired it with banana and more pb 🍌
