If you miss the old Tumblr, here's how to get it back.
OKAY, so I hate the new layout and functions for tumblr, it was slowing down my computer for whatever reason and just generally making my life difficult, and so I’ve had a sleuth around, and I’ve figured out how to turn it off, so I thought I’d let y'all know.
Get this add on if you use Firefox. Once it’s installed, restart Firefox. If the icon isn’t in your toolbar automatically, you’ll need to right click the toolbar, select ‘customize’, and drag in the 'user agent switcher’ icon. Once you’ve done this, click the icon, and select Internet Explorer > Internet Explorer 8. When you reload Tumblr, it’ll be back to how it was.
Get this add on if you use Google Chrome. Set the user profile to Internet Explorer 9. You’ll be back to normal when you reload the page.
Something to keep in mind is that the way this add on works is that it mimics the settings of another browser to change the way a website behaves, so you may have to switch between profiles according whether or not you’re using tumblr, just to make sure that things work correctly on other websites. I’ve double checked also - this resolves the problems caused by the new dash with one click blogging via missing e. Some parts of it are a little buggy, so if you need to edit a post, open it in a new tab - the link doesn’t work for some reason. Some missing e features are missing, like that excellent little options menu that used to drop down from the reblog icon, but this is the best I could do, so it’s better than nothing!
Either way - you’re welcome!
