Everywhere I see TLOU posts, I see someone saying that Joel lied. But, if you grab all the recorders and files in the hospital, you’ll see that he didn’t really lie, he didn’t tell the entire truth, but he didn’t lie about there being other people that were immune and that the fireflies didn’t get a cure from them either.
(A/N: This is based on the ending from the Last of Us One Night Live. Apparently, nobody recorded the new ending cuz director Neil Druckmann asked the audience not to. But I found a video that explains in detail on what happens and when I heard it, I thought it was beautiful and I wish that they make the ending public. But those lucky 200 fans, that went to see it, are the only ones to have seen it.
Anyway, this is to take place a few weeks after the ending of the game. I’m gonna try and recreate it as best as I can, but I have a feeling it’s not 100% accurate, with also a little thing I’m adding to it. I’m just going by what the video that explains it says and what little research I did to see if it’s accurate.)
Ellie was sitting at her desk, listening to her Walkman that she finally fixed, writing down notes on a paper while also glancing outside, the light from the moon shining through her window. “Ellie?” Joel’s voice calls out. Ellie doesn’t reply as the music in her headphones was playing pretty loud. “Ellie!” Joel calls out but again, as he walks to the doorway of her room, Ellie doesn’t reply.
Joel walks over to her and taps her shoulder, which makes her jump. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” Joel said to her while she pulls her headphones off. “It’s okay.” Ellie replied, softly, as she waves him off. She turns around in her swivel chair, leans back against her desk and looks up at him.
“What’s up?” She asked after an awkward pause between the two. The tension was so thick in the air that you could cut it with a knife, after all…this is after Joel and (y/n) lied to Ellie about the Fireflies. Ellie had a good indication that they were lying and she’s been alittle distance with the two adults. “Well….we just haven’t talked in awhile. And I just wanted to check on you.” Joel replied, slowly. “(Y/n) said she saw some kids outside playin' with water guns and she was half expecting you to be out there with them but didn’t see you.”
“I was needed at the outer wall. Maria said they were repairing it and mentioned that they needed a extra set of hands, so…I offered to help.” Ellie replied, quickly. “Besides…I really don’t have time for that kinda stuff." Joel goes to sit on the corner of her bed and says. "Everyone’s been impressed with you, Ellie. How you’re helping out and working hard. But…it’s okay to take a break every once in while.” He looks at her as she looks away from him.
Realizing he’s getting nowhere with her, he changes the subject. "Tommy’s put me in with a militia group….everything seems to have calm down out there….somewhat.“ he said as he bites his lips. "Although he’s had to paired me up with this woman, Esther.” Ellie looks up at him, confused. “What happened to (y/n)?” She asked, concerned. “She…she’s been sick the past week. Luckily, Tommy has someone here that is in the medical profession and could check on her.” Joel replied. “I’m sure once they figure out what’s wrong with her, she and I will work together again.” Ellie nods at this as Joel says. “One thing I can tell you about Esther is she’s got a pretty good sense of humor. I think you’d like her. Why just the other day she told me one of ‘em jokes you like."
"How did it go?” Ellie asked him. Joel thinks and starts to mutter to himself as he tries to recall the joke but for the life of him, he couldn’t recall. Eventually, Ellie speaks up. “It’s getting late. And I need to get going with the outer repairs on the wall.” She said. Joel looks at her, a little hurt, but he quickly recovers. “I wanted to show you somethin’. It’ll only take a minute. One minute.” He said as he stands back up and walks out of the room for a moment.
He comes back in, quickly, holding a guitar in hand. “What’s that supposed to be?” Ellie asked, sarcastically. “Well, I done hear that some people call this a guitar.” Joel replied, really pouring in his Texas accent on the word guitar. Ellie let’s out a quiet chuckle before saying. “I know that! But what’s it for?”
Joel sits down on her bed and said. “I’ve been working on a song for awhile. I’ve been working on it since–” he stops for a moment before speaking again. “Well that’s not important.” He said as Ellie sits up in her chair and pulls up a leg to her chest as Joel begins to play.
If I ever were to lose you
I’d surely lose myself
Everything I have found dear
I’m not found by myself
Try and sometimes you’ll succeed
To make this man of me
All my stolen missing parts
I’ve no need for anymore
And I believe 'cause I can see
Our future days, days of you and me
As he continues to sing, (y/n) walks up to the doorway, quietly, and watches this with a fond smile. You watch Joel play the notes of the song as he sings to Ellie, who was shedding a few tears before she wipes them away. Even after all these years, Joel’s singing still sounded the same way it did when he sang to you so many years ago.
You remembered that beautiful spring day. You and him had been dating about a year at the time and he decided to take you out on a picnic. Both of you were sitting under a tree, the warm breeze blowing gently through the air, when Joel starts to get up and head over to his truck, which wasn’t far off. “What are you doing?” You asked him, curiously, when he comes back with his guitar.
“I just….I wanted to surprise you.” He said, nervously, as he sits down across from you and pulls the guitar to his lap. “Aww, you gonna serenade me?” You asked, in a somewhat teasing tone. He chuckles as he tunes the instrument and then he begins to play then sing, and immediately you were transfixed.
Alot of emotions swam over you as you listen to Joel but a brand new emotion envelops you, stronger than any other emotions you’ve ever felt. Your heartbeated alittle faster and you felt all tingly and warm on the inside. When you placed your right hand on your chest, over your heart, you realized in that moment that you were in love.
When he finished, he looks up at you and started to say. “So…?” But you lean forward and kissed him. He smiles, sets the guitar to the side and wraps his arms around you as you two have a little make-out session. It wasn’t until you fell backwards on your back, on the blanket, and Joel on top of you when you two stopped kissing. You looked up at him and whispered. “I love you.” Joel looked at you in shock for a moment. Your heart started beating rapidly, fearing that maybe you said the wrong thing or maybe you said it to soon before he smiled at you. “Well, damn…you beat me to it. 'Cause I was gonna say that as well. I love you too.” He said and the both of you chuckled.
You were brought back to reality, when Joel finished singing and the last notes of the guitar fades. You lean against the doorway when Ellie said to Joel, in a quiet voice. “That was beautiful, Joel.” The tension earlier was long gone, now replaced with the love between father and daughter. “Thank you.” Joel said as Ellie smiles then she looks over his shoulder to see you.
“Oh, hey, (y/n).” Ellie greets, happily, making Joel turn around in his spot to look over at you. “Hey you two.” You said. “How long have you been standing there?” Joel asked you and you chuckle. “Oh, enough to say that you still got it, baby.” You replied, winking at him. Joel smirks a bit before Ellie asked. “Joel mentioned that you weren’t feeling well. Everything okay?”
You nodded and said. “Yeah….I’m fine, but…uh…I need to talk to Joel, privately.” Joel and Ellie give you a concern look but you shake your head and said. “It’s nothing bad…I promise.” The two nodded just as Joel stands up then extends the guitar to Ellie. “Wait! I-I can’t play, Joel!” She stammers, nervously. “I know but I promised you that I would teach you how to play the guitar.” He said. She looks at him in shock, still not taking the guitar. “Take it, it’s yours.” Joel said and she takes the guitar. “You did.” She said, touched that he actually remembered his promise.
“Well, it’s getting late. You need your rest.” Joel said and he starts to walk towards you before Ellie asked. “What was that joke you heard the other day?” Joel stops for a moment then turns back to her and asked, with a soft smile. “What’s the hardest part about eating clocks?” Ellie shakes her head and raises her hands up in defeat. Joel smirks and said. “It’s time consuming.” This made the three of you laugh.
“That is pretty bad.” Ellie responded, smiling.
“Yeah, it’s one of the worst I have heard.” Joel agreed as you three chuckle, softly.
“Well, goodnight, Ellie.” You said, after a few moments of silence, and Ellie nods at you as you and Joel leave the room. Ellie looks down at the guitar then starts to pluck at the strings of the instrument.
I shut the door to our bedroom behind me as Joel asked. “Everything okay?” I sigh at this and replied. “Yeah…yeah…it’s just…what I’ve gotta tell you is…something I thought I never would get to say….” I twiddle my fingers, nervously, then I look up at him. “What is it?” Joel asked, softly. “Well…the medic, or doctor I guess I need to call him, um…tried every available tests he had to see if I had any form of sickness. It seemed like all the tests were coming back negative. And then he suggested one particular test.” I said as I give him a knowing look.
He stares at me for a few seconds until his eyes widen at what I was hinting at. “I didn’t think it was possible, the age I am….” I stammer but Joel slightly shakes his head. “You’re only…what? …four years younger than me?” He said and I chuckled. “True….but I was still under the impression that there was no possiblity for it to happen….but…” I said then I bite my lips again then look him in the eyes.
“It’s a miracle, Joel….” I bite my lips then let out a breath through my mouth then said, softly. “I’m pregnant." He stares at me in shock as I look at him for a moment then said. "I-I know, we’ve talked about this sort of thing. A-and I know we weren’t wanting a child to grow up in this but…”
But he stops me as he leans down and kissed me. I kissed him back as he wraps his arms around my waist while I place my right hand on his neck and my left hand goes to his cheek. “Okay…not the reaction I expected…” I chuckled in a whisper once we break the kiss. “Did you really expect me to get angry?” He asked me. “Well…” I muttered, dubiously, and Joel shakes his head and chuckles a bit.
“It’s just…we’ve always been careful and…we’ve agreed not to have one. Especially after what happened to…Sarah. I was just worried how you would react about this.” I said as I placed a hand over my stomach which now that I look at it, it does look and feel like there’s a bump.
Joel places his finger under my chin and pulls my face up to him. “This place….it feels like home. Unlike Boston, this feels like a great place to live for years to come.” He said then he placed his hand on my stomach. “And a place to raise a child.” He whispers and I smile at him then kiss him once again. “I hope so.” I whispered as Joel and I start to climb into bed and lay down.
“How far along are you?” Joel asked as I lay my head on his shoulder. “He figured, from the way it looked, about five weeks. Which means…that night we had together…a couple of days after arriving here, when Ellie was out….” I replied, staring up at him with a knowing look. “Unless you slept with another man behind my back, around that time.” Joel joked and I playfully slap his chest. “Of course not! You’re the only man for me.” I said to him and he smiles at me as he chuckles. “Damn right.” He mutters to me. I chuckled as he goes and kisses me and I kiss back.
“I love you.” He mutters to me.
“I love you too.” I replied as we cuddled up together and start to fall asleep in each other’s arms.
(A/N: I was wanting to wait until we learned more about the sequel of the game but I thought screw it I really wanted to do this and I’ll just figure my way around it when the sequel comes out. For those wondering, the song Joel sings is Future Days by Pearl Jam. Anyway I hope you guys liked this Chapter!)
I slowly open my eyes and see that I’m in some sort of hospital room. I narrow my eyes in confusion as I look to my right and see Joel was in a bed next to me, but not only that I also saw Marlene sitting in a chair next to his bed. Joel starts to come to and he looks over at me then over to Marlene.
“Welcome to the Fireflies.” She greets as we look over at her. "Sorry about the…“ she said as she gestures over to a couple of guards, that were standing near our beds. "They didn’t know who you guys were.” She said. “And Ellie?” I asked her. “She’s alright. They brought her back.” Marlene replied then she looks us over.
“You two came all this way… How’d you guys do it?” She asked us. “It was her. She fought like hell to get here.” Joel replied and I let out a small chuckle. “Maybe it was meant to be.” I said. “I lost most of my crew crossing the country. I pretty much lost everything. And then you two show up and somehow we find you guys just in time to save her. Maybe it was meant to be.” She said as both Joel and I start to sit up.
“Take us to her.” Joel said to Marlene. “You guys don’t have to worry about her anymore. We’ll take care of–” Marlene started to say but I talk over her. “We worry. Just let us see her, please.” I begged and she looks between us as Joel and I stand up and walk in front of her. “You can’t. She’s being prepped for surgery.” She replied as she stands up from her chair. “The hell you mean, surgery?” Joel asked her, confused. “The doctors tell me that the cordyceps, the growth inside her, has somehow mutated. It’s why she’s immune. Once they remove it, they’ll be able to reverse-engineer a vaccine.” She said. Then she smiles and let’s out a small laugh of relief. “A vaccine.” She repeats in a whisper.
“But it grows all over the brain.” Joel said.
“It does.” Marlene said and Joel and I stare at her in shock. No…no…no…this can’t be happening! They can’t just kill her! I thought as I shake my head at her. “Find someone else.” I told her, firmly. “There is no one else.” She replied to me. “Listen, you are gonna show us where–” Joel started to say as he walks closer to her but one of the guards comes up and knocks him down. “Joel!” I yelled as I go over to him and kneel next to him, my hands on his shoulders.
“Stop. I get it. But whatever it is you two think you’re going through right now, it is nothing compared to what I have been through. I knew her since she was born. I promised her mother I would look after her.” Marlene said. “Then why are you letting this happen?” I asked her, desperately. “Because this isn’t about me. Or even her. There is no other choice here.” She said to us.
Joel goes and sits down in front of the chair, Marlene just sat in, and placed his arms on his knee and glares up at Marlene. “Yeah…you keep telling yourself that bullshit.” He said to her in a harsh whisper. Marlene glares at us then turns to the two guards. “March them outta here. Either of them try anything, shoot them.” She orders her guards then turns to us. “Don’t waste this gift, guys.” She said and she walks out of the room.
Joel looks down at the ground as I slowly stand up and wrap my arms around myself. “Get up.” One of the guards said to Joel while I look over my shoulder and see the second guard was behind me, aiming his gun at me. "I said get up.“ The first guard said to Joel, who hadn’t moved. He slowly raises his head at the guard and looks over at the guard behind me then gets up.
"Go on. Move.” My guard said to me and I slowly start walking out of the room but Joel and I stop at the doorway. “We said move.” One of the guards ordered and they shoved their guns against our shoulder. Joel and I glare at them over our shoulder. “Give us an excuse.” The second guard said to us.
“Which way?” Joel asked them and they gesture to the left. I sigh at this and we head towards the left where I see mine and Joel’s backpack on a counter. I glance over at Joel then I pretend I tripped, Joel stops next to me. “What the fuck you two doin’? Keep walking.” One of the guard said as I reach into my sock and slowly pull out a makeshift shiv, that I made earlier.
“I said keep walking.” One of the guard ordered and I take in a deep breath then I quickly stand up and stabbed the guard in the leg. He screams in pain as he falls to his knees then I started stabbing him, repeatedly. “What the–?” The other guard said but before he could do anything, Joel overpowers him and slams him up against the wall as he takes the guard’s gun.
“Where is the operating room?” Joel asked the guard as I stabbed the guard in the head. The guard doesn’t answer him and Joel shakes his head as he aims the gun at the man’s lower abdomen. “We ain’t got time for this.” Joel mutters and he shoots the man. “Where?” Joel asked the guard but again he doesn’t reply. Joel shoots him again as I go and stab the guard in the shoulder. “Where?!” Joel and I yelled at him. “Top floor. The far end.” The guard replied and Joel let’s him go as he slides down to the floor before Joel shoots him in the head.
I run over to the counter and grabbed our backpack. I tossed his backpack just as we hear a voice shout. “Gunshots! Search the floor!” We look towards the door in fright. “Shit.” We muttered as Joel grabs my hand and we run and hide.
“Oh shit. They killed Ethan and Neil.” One of the Firflies exclaimed as a few other guards come in. “What?” Another asked. “Ethan and Neil are dead.” The first Firefly shouts. “We got two men down. The smugglers’ escaped.” The second Firefly said through a radio. “Locate the targets and eliminate them. We’ll search the other floors.” A man’s voice said through the radio. “Yes, sir.” The Firefly said then turns to the other man. “Search the floor. Find those smugglers and shoot them on sight.” He said and they start to search the floor.
Joel and I shoot the men then run and hide to another part of the floor as more reinforcements come in. “Down this way. Stay alert!” One Firefly exclaims as they see our mess. “Oh dear God. It’s a fucking massacre over here. Search every inch of this floor. Find these two now!” Another guard shouts as we slowly make our way, quietly, out of the floor.
“What’s going on down there? Did you hear what I–” another guard said but at the last minute, he sees us. “Oh shit! They’re over here!” He shouts as Joel and I make our way to the stairwell the I grabbed a chair and used it to block the door. “Oh shit.” Joel mutters as I point up the stairs. “There.” I said and we run up the stairs, towards the sixth floor.
Once we reach the sixth floor, we could see the lights from the surgery wing was on. “Yeah, that’s it.” I said as I pointed it out to Joel, who nods. “We’re comin’, Ellie.” Joel mutters as we make our way down the hall but stop and hide to see more Fireflies running in. “They’re not responding. Take up positions. No matter what, they don't get through here. Go!” A guard ordered.
“Who the hell are these guys?” A guard asked his friends. “They brought the kid all the way from Pittsburgh, that’s all I know. Marlene insisted on questioning them herself.” Another guard replied as Joel and I throw some nail bombs at them, killing them. The ones that didn’t die from the bombs, we shot them.
We run towards a door then shut it and look around for anything that could block the door. “There. C'mon…” Joel said as he points at some shelves. We grab them and push it up against th door. “That should buy us some time.” I said and we run to the door and enter the surgery prep room, where there was a nurse and two doctors surrounding Ellie, who was passed out on the table.
“Sweet Jesus.” Joel mutters as my jaw drops.
“Doctor?” A nurse said and the doctor turns to us and gasped. “What’re you two doing here? I won’t let you two take her. This is our future. Think of all the lives we’ll save.” The doctor said as Joel and I walk closer to him. “Don’t come any closer. I mean it.” The doctor threatens as he holds out a scalpel.
Joel goes up to the doctor, takes the scalpel and stabs the doctor in the throat. “No! You fucking animal!” The nurse shouts. “Kari, shut the hell up!” The second doctor said to her as we go over to the table and I pull out my gun and aim it at the two. “Please. I don’t wanna die. Oh God…oh God…” The nurse begs as Joel disconnects the tubes and goes to pick Ellie up.
“Stay back!” I yelled at her as Joel whispers to Ellie. “Come on, baby girl. I gotcha…” As he picks her up then we look out the window to some lights shining through. “Oh shit.” Joel said as he starts to run at the door. “Get back!” I ordered at the guards that were coming in, aiming my gun at them, before turning around and following Joel out of the room and started to make our way through the hall.
“He’s carrying her towards pediatrics!” A guard yelled as we run through a room then out to another hall. “Come on, you two. We just want the girl. Get up here. Now!” Another guard yelled. “They're over here!” Another guard shouts as we run down the hall.
“We're getting you outta here, girl. I got you. I got you.” Joel mutters to her as we run down the hall but then a group of guards come towards us. “Shit.” Joel and I muttered as we run into another room to our right and run through it and out towards another section of the halls. “Cover the exits!” A guard yelled.
“Dammit, which way?” I asked as Joel runs through another room and out into a hallway then we turn to the left and see an elevator. “We’re okay, we’re okay, we’re okay…” Joel mutters as we head towards our only exit. “This is your last chance. Drop her now!” We hear a guard yelled at us.
“I got them in my sights.” I hear another guard say and I turn around, running backwards, aiming my gun at them. “I said get back!” I shouted as Joel runs into the elevator and I run in as well just as they started firing at us. “Stop!” One guy yells as I push the button and the doors close.
I put away my gun then let out a heavy sigh as I realized what we just done. “Oh God.” Joel mutters and I turn around to him to see him leaning against the wall of the elevator, a look of distraught on his face. He looks down at Ellie for a moment as I go up to Joel and stand in front of him.
I place my hand on his cheek and stroked his cheek with my thumb as he looks at me. I move my hand to the back of his neck and lean his head forward so that my forehead and his forehead were pressed against each other. We stare into each other eyes for a moment before I closed my eyes.
After a few minutes, the elevator stops and the door opens. I move away from Joel and push the stop button of the elevator, keeping the door to stay open. “Come on.” I said to Joel as we run out of the elevator but Marlene was there, aiming a gun at us. “You two can’t save her. Even if you guys get her out of here, then what? How long before she’s torn to pieces by a pack of clickers? That is if she hasn’t been raped and murdered first.” Marlene said to us. “That ain’t for you to decide.” I said to her, firmly.
“It’s what she’d want. And both of you know it. Look…” she said then she lowers her gun and holds her hands out. “You two can still do the right thing here. She won’t feel anything.” She said. I look down at the ground then over at Joel. Both of us exchange a look as Marlene walks closer to us but Joel pulls out his gun and shoots her in the stomach.
I gasped as she falls face-forward on the ground. Joel looks around and runs over to a truck. I follow him as he opens the back door and puts Ellie in the backseat then shuts the door. Joel looks over at me then placed his hand on my cheek then said. “Get in the truck, baby.” I nod at him as he tucks a strand of hair out of my face and behind my ear. I go over to the passenger side as Joel goes back over to Marlene, who raises her head up and holds her hand out to him. “Wait! Let me go. Please.” She begs him as he looks down at her. “You’d just come after her.” Joel said before he shoots her in the head.
Later on, Joel was driving down the highway as I sit in the passenger seat, twiddling my thumbs, when we hear Ellie waking up. “What the hell am I wearing?” She asked in a groan as she looks down at her hospital gown. “Just take it easy…drugs are still wearing off.” I informed her as I look over at her in the backseat. “What happened?” She asked us. I look over at Joel, who glances at me before he speaks.
“We found the Fireflies. Turns out there’s a whole lot more like you, Ellie. People that are immune. It’s dozens actually. Ain’t done a damn bit of good either. They’ve actually st–” he stops for a moment then continues. “They’ve stopped looking for a cure. I’m taking us home.” He said and I look back at Ellie, who looked very sad about this before she turns over on her side. “I’m sorry.” Joel and I said before I turn back around to face the front.
Joel reaches over and takes my hand in his and I go to squeeze it, trying to convey that I didn’t like that we are lying to her, but he strokes the back of my hand, comforting me.
We were back in Jackson when the truck breaks down. Joel goes to check on tht engine for a few minutes as I get out of the passenger seat and walk over to the other side to see Ellie, now in her normal clothes, leaning against the driver side door, looking down at her arm with the bite. “Well, looks like we’re walking. Should be a straight shot through here.” Joel said as he points toward the side, behind a barbed wire fence. “Alright.” Ellie mutters as she stands up straight and we start to head towards the fence.
“Actually kinda pretty, ain’t it?” I asked her as I point towards the environment. “Yeah.” She said as Joel goes up to the fence and starts to hold it wide enough for us to crawl through. “Alright. Now watch your head going through.” He said to Ellie. “Here…got it.” Ellie said as she climbs through the fence then I follow her.
Joel climbs through the fence then let’s out a small groan. “Oh… Feelin’ my age now. Hmpf.” He mutters and I chuckle. “Oh, come on and keep up with us, grandpa.” I teased as we start to walk up a hill. “If I’m a grandpa, shouldn’t that mean you’re a grandma?” Joel asked in a teasing manner. “Nope, I’m forever young.” I said and he chuckles as he comes up next to me and placed his arm around my waist. Then he looks over at Ellie, who was following close behind us.
“Don’t think we ever told you, but Sarah, (y/n) and I used to take hikes like this. I think, ah…I think the two of you would’ve been good friends. Think you really would’ve liked her. I know she woulda liked you.” He said to her and I nod in agreement. “I bet I would’ve.” Ellie replied as we make it to the top of the hill and see the large community below.
“Wow. Look down there.” I whispered as we see buildings and light posts. “Just a little bit further now.” Joel said as we walk across the little stream then over to a ledge. Joel gestures for me to go first. I get on top of this large branch and climb up the ledge. Joel follows just as the branch sinks down but I reach down and help pull him up. “Shit.” He mutters as Ellie comes up to the ledge and I reach out to her. “Here, I got you. Gimme your hand.” I said and she takes my hand and I help her up.
“Alright, come on.” Joel said and we start to head towards the town but Ellie said. “Hey, wait.” We stopped and turned to her. She plays with her fingers for a moment, sighs then looks back at us. "Back in Boston – back when I was bitten – I wasn’t alone. My best friend was there. And she got bit too. We didn’t know what to do. So…she says Let’s just wait it out. Y'know, we can be all poetic and just lose our minds together. I’m still waiting for my turn.“ She said.
"Ellie–” Joel and I said but she talks over us.
“Her name was Riley and she was the first to die. And then it was Tess. And then Sam.” She said to us. “None of that is on you.” I told her, assuredly. “No, you guys don’t understand.” Ellie said. “(Y/n) and I struggled for a long time with survivin’. And you–” Joel said but he stops as he looks down at his watch and runs his hand over it before he looks back at her. “No matter what, you keep finding something to fight for.” He said and Ellie scoffs and sighs. “Now, I know that’s not what you want to hear right now, but it’s–”
“Swear to me.” Ellie said, firmly, interrupting Joel. She looks right at us and said. “Swear to me that everything you guys said about the Fireflies is true.” Joel and I look her straight in the eyes, not blinking, and said, in unison. “I swear.” She looks us over for a moment then gives a slight nod.
Okay but can we talk about how in the beginning of The Last of Us Joel refused to talk about Sarah and didn’t even want a picture of her but in the very end he’s freely talking about how her and Ellie would have been great friends if they met
Sure its fucking annoying, but its also fucking HILARIOUS to see Joel from the last of us, LEVITATE INTO THE CEILING BECAUSE HE WAS TOO CLOSE TO A FALLING LADDER, Kara from detroit walk out of the canadian checkpoint, LOOKING LIKE A FUCKING SKELETON WITH SKIN before the face fixing itself, and then hearing Ignis from Final Fantasy 15 say “these lights should keep the daemons at bay”, WHILE IT BEING PITCH BLACK AND YOU ARE AT A PLACE THAT YOU KNOW SHOULD BE LIT UP.
