We want to be individuals who raise the standard, who love endlessly and passionately and with integrity and true honor toward God, without compromise so that the world around us can see Jesus as He is.
I know the new Dovin isn’t what some people expected, but he does enable a potential Standard artifact super friends deck. The curve of Dovin into Karn, into Tezzeret seems good, and you get some tempo and control spells from blue and white. You could even add some cheap evasive creatures to fuel Dovin’s plus.
Will it be good? Who knows yet, but it will definitely be interesting!
If this combo works the way I think it does, here you go my Brewdlings! Do what you want with this information and for those who haven’t solved the puzzle:
Have the Wanderer on the field when you cast Command the Dreadhorde. When Command resolves and you pick your targets in graveyards to reanimate, the Wanderer will negate the damage part of the spell as the Wanderer’s passive says “Prevent all noncombat damage that would be dealt to you and other permanents you control.” Assuming you haven’t had your graveyard touched and have had time to build up to this, you get a 6 mana Rise of the Dark Realms in standard.
a year ago: robert and aaron madly in love, engaged, living together, happy little eggs planning their future
now: larry thinks robbo is in love with him even though robbo got his daughter preggerz, robert being the village godmother offering words of bi wisdom, lydia is a regular and aaron is fuck knows where
Setting standards and having boundaries can make life seem uninteresting if you are used to celebrating chaos, but in all honesty it just filters the dirt from your life, you are divine and you deserve a peaceful and merry life.
No economy, industrial or otherwise, can supply an appropriate aim or standard. Any economy must be either true or false to the world and to our life in it. If it is to be true, then it must be made true, according to a standard that is not economic.
Auntie Sidisi is back for the time being. The recent spoilers from War of the Spark have stirred me from my internet slumbers with the promise and sweet caress of more dank, jank and degenerate shenanigans. So let’s not waste time!
Today’s combo is a standard legal and perfectly playable deck in my eyes! I’ll call it … Ral’s Release to the Storm! Have a look:
Start out with Ral, Storm Conduit on the field. At instant speed, cast a Release to the Wind targeting whatever you, then with the Release on the stack, flash in Naru Meha, Master Wizard targeting the Release. Her etb will trigger before the resolution of the Release, copying it and putting the copy of Release onto the stack before the original. Allow the copy to resolve, targeting Naru Meha, exiling her. The original Release will now go to resolve but from exile, without paying her mana cost, flash in Naru Meha, copying the Release and putting the copy on the stack again. Now every time we do this, Ral, Storm Conduit will be dealing 1 damage to our opponent every time we cast or copy an instant or sorcery with his new passive ability. Rinse and repeat the process until your opponent is thoroughly dead.
This combo does require approximately 7 mana (3 of which needs to be blue), but for certain decks, especially in control, I don’t see this as much as a problem. Bant Nexus decks could make top 8′s, I have hope for this combo. Wilderness Reclamation is an amazing card and this combo is all instant speed. Once the end steps hits, you’re golden.
If I’m also doing my mental maths right, I do believe Expansion//Explosion can be looped in on itself. Follow with me: 1: Cast Opt, then copy it with Expansion(1) 2: Holding priority, cast Expansion(2) targeting the Expansion(1). 3) When the stack goes to resolve, Expansion(2) will copy the Expansion(1), making Expansion(2.1). 4) Once, Expansion(2-1) will resolve, targeting Expansion(1), making Expansion(2.2). 5) Expansion(2.2) will resolves, copying Expansion(1), and we on and on and on.
Now I may be wrong about the stack and how this is all working, but if I am correct, these two “infinite” loops combined with Ral, Storm Conduit can make for an aggressive spell slinger Izzet or Temur deck. Thoughts? Concerns? Complaints?
I wish what I saw in my brain when I’m imagining a scene for a fic could just be like,, transferred into words. magically. Instead of the blood sweat and tears it requires to squeeze it through my fingers while I type. What the heck happens between brain -> fingers -> words that makes it sound just Not As Good
