One of my spirit animals is a spider. I had been searching for my spirit animal and asked for them to show themselves to me. I started noticing that when I was in a time of need or felt alone a spider would appear and I got a strange sense of comfort from them. So, I took out my pendulum and asked to speak with my spirit animal. Through our conversation I learned that they are a spider. So today I’ve decided to compile a list of information on spiders as spirit animals for you!
The spider is often a symbol of creativity and femininity. The spider has extreme patience as it waits for its prey and is a weaver of fate.
As a spider delicately weaves intricate designs on its web, if your spirit animal is a spider it is likely that you are creative. You are able to come up with unique, strong and ideas and ways to put them into action.
The spider also is a sign of feminine energy. In ancient Egypt the spider was a symbol of the Divine Mother Neith, the goddess of war and weaving.
The spider cautions is to keep patience as we weave our fates. You must be sure that you foundations in life are strong and safe.
It was (and in some religions still is) believed that a spider created the world. And in ancient Egypt it was believed that the goddess Neith
(Mentioned above) also created the world. As we must create our own fates. The spider is wide and reminds us to make good decisions as we weave the web of our lives.
Overall, the spider reminds us that we must make our own destiny using our creativity and talents but, remember to be patient and to use our wisdom to make the best choices to lead us to our success.
Animal Spirit Oil (I have a recipe for both under my tagged recipes on my blog)
Blank paper and a pencil
Cast a circle or blessing/protection spell (however you like to start a ritual)
Sprinkle the animal incense over a hot coal and allow it to smoulder. Offer this incense to each directions - East, South, West, North.
Ancestors, sprits, witches, Open the way of the sacred hunt, Let my spirit be open to the voices of Feather and Fur, Claw and Talon.
Return the incense to your alter and then fan the smoke across your body.
Carry the Animal Spirit Oil to the East anoint your throat.
I open myself up to the voices of the animal world.
Carry the Animal Spirit Oil to the South and anoint your solar-plexus.
I open myself up to the power of the animal world.
Carry the Animal Spirit Oil to the West and anoint your brow, between your eyes.
I open myself up to the wisdom of the animal world.
Move to the North of your circle and crouch into Childs pose. Breathe deeply.
Spirit animal, become my root in the animal world.
Lie back so your feet point to north and your head sits south.
Touch the Animal Spirit Oil to the insides of your elbows and the backs of your knees.
Close your eyes and visualise standing before a great oak tree. With each deep breath you take, visualise yourself becoming more transparent. Walk towards the tree and become one with it.
Imagine yourself travelling through the heavy roots, depending through the layers of rock and soil. You follow them into the dark, cold earth. When you come to the end, you’re in a large cave. Listen carefully, in the silence of the cave you will be able to hear the Animal.
Follow the sound of the animal and know that you will not come to any harm. The flow of the cave is smooth and soft. Soon you feel something brush against you. You can feel the Animal.
As the Animal moves further and you follow it, you can smell the Animal.
Finally you notice a glowing light before you. As you approach it, you can see it is a large luminous symbol. This is the mark of your Spirit Animal. You touch the symbol and the light expands, showing that you are no longer in a cave, but in a landscape. This landscape is the home of your Spirit Animal.
Begin to explore the terrain. Soon you will encounter a single animal. Greet the Animal, ask its name and thank it for revealing itself to you. Then bid it farewell.
You find yourself back inside the cave, and being drawn back into the tree. You separate from the tree and your body becomes solid again.
Open your eyes, and on the paper, write down your experience and the name of the animal, draw its symbol.
hi folks. today I made a little sleep sachet. sachets are little bags often filled with insense, crystals, herbs and other witchy things to bring forth positive impacts or banish negative energy. today we will be making one for sleep.
2. Rosemary (common herb used for peaceful sleep, banishing nightmares and bringing forth good dreams)
3. Lavender insense or spray (good for third eye chakra, intense dreams, help with astral projection, spirituality, calm sleep)
4. Moon water (optional, but I like to use this to cleanse my sachet. I use full moon water to bring forth intense energy of full moon into my dreams)
5. Crystals (here I used amethyst and white howlite. Amethyst is good for third eye chakra, spirituality, peaceful sleep and bringing forth spiritual dreams. Howlite is good for bringing forth peaceful dreams and banishing bad ones. you could also use rose or clear quartz.)
6. Herbs! (You can use Lavender, rosemary etc. I used rosemary and white sage)
Bless your sachet. You can do this with visualization, moon water, cleansing etc.
Fill your sachet with crystals, herbs. Perhaps if you’d like you can add additional things that are important to you, such as your manifestations on paper.
Spray your sachet with lavender insense or spray. I used lavender and vanilla pillow spray I got at bath and body works.
A lot of the cages that hold us back from what we want to truly be and what we truly want to do, are made of sticks. Very easy to break open
Okay, so if they are made of sticks, why don’t we just leave? What makes it so hard? Spirit wants you wild and true to yourself, brain wants you safe and in your comfort zone .
The battle has been there since day one, so what gives?
What determines your success isn’t “What do you want to enjoy?” The question spirit asks is, “What pain do you want to sustain?” The quality of your life is not determined by the quality of your positive experiences but the quality of your negative experiences. And to get good at dealing with negative experiences is to get good at dealing with life.
Today, we live in the modern world and our fear is not about death, but instead, we feel fear because we are afraid of rejection, failure or even success.
We are afraid of making a fool of ourselves when we voice out our opinion in a meeting. We are afraid we might get humiliated and feel embarrass if we fail in public speaking. We are afraid to fail and how others will look at us.
So fears are just the feelings that we feel within us, they are not real in the first place.
Fear is not real. Fear is a spell that only appears in your head. Fear is there because you worry about the uncertainty.
The next time when you are afraid of fear of something, try to switch your thinking to the positive opposite. Think positively. Think the opposite of fear. This may sound easy, but we all know it is not.
The thing is, you have the ability to rewrite your story. You get to decide who you want to be and what you do with your life.
I don’t know how to say this without sounding cheesy, but you are good enough. If you’re not doing the things that scare you simply because of fear, it’s not a good enough excuse.
I don’t want to see you sitting around, feeling stuck and unhappy because you’re scared of making that big leap into the thing that could truly bring you joy. 🌙
