it’s her senior thesis film, so she’s directing it, but i’ll be writing it!! we’re both filipino american women, and the majority of the cast and crew will be women of color!
about the film
despite the name, GOD’S TIME isn’t some pro-catholic bs, but is a coming of age story about kara, a filipino american teen, who realizes that she hasn’t been a very good friend to her best friend diana, a latina american teen, while the two of them are on their senior retreat. as they reflect on the pressures put on them by their immigrant families and the impending doom of college starting soon, kara has to Face Herself and learn to open up to others.
about the campaign
we’re aiming for a budget of $2000, and need to reach at least $1600 to actually receive all the money donated. there are 11 days left in the campaign, and we are currently 46% funded ($925).
depending on the donation amount, we’re offering different prizes! including but not limited to: a special thanks credit in the film itself, social media shoutouts, behind the scenes photos, art by yours truly (aka me hehe), the ability to watch the finished product, and even executive producer credit!
about the filmmakers (aka us)
christienne and i first became friends freshman year through our school’s filipino cultural club and our shared passion of creating better representation of asian americans (esp fil ams) in film/media. we’ve since become roommates and have even co-interned in the same film office together! this is us:
(yup, we’re both 5′0″ tall and proud.)
as mentioned previously, we’ve enlisted the help of mostly woc for this project, as we already have an asian american producer and director of photography, who you can read about here.
anything helps, even just $1! we also accept venmo! (send to ChristienneC). even just reblogging this to spread the word would help us out so much!
