This is the Book in which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah — (Quran 2:2)
Don’t ever underestimate the power of the Quran- it is God’s gift to mankind. Allah’s words carry miracles and cures beyond imagination. If only we could physically observe the blessings and wonders these combinations of letters and words create, once uttered. Understand, this is the greatest book written, free of error, addressing every aspect of life - what other literature, hadith, duaa compares? You have direct access to the words of The Creator of this universe, acknowledge the honour, have faith in their effect & ability to resolve the most complex of issues, and purify & cure your mind, body and soul through recitation.
Imam Ahmad recorded that Al-Mundhir bin Jarir narrated that his father said,
“While we were in the company of the Messenger of Allah in the early hours of the morning, some people came there who were barefooted, naked, wearing striped woolen clothes, or cloaks, with their swords hung (around their necks). Most of them, nay, all of them, belonged to the tribe of Mudar. The color of the face of the Messenger of Allah underwent a change when he saw them in poverty. He then entered (his house) and came out and commanded Bilal to pronounce Adhan. Bilal pronounced Adhan and Iqamah, and the Prophet led the prayer. He then addressed them, first reciting,
O mankind! Have Taqwa of your Lord, Who created you from a single person… (4:1), until the end of the Ayah.
Then he recited the Ayah that is in Surah Al-Hashr:
وَلْتَنظُرْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ لِغَد
and let every person look to what he has sent forth for tomorrow,”
He then said,
“A man donated his Dinar, his Dirham, from his clothes, from his Sa` of wheat, from his Sa` of dates” – until he said – “even if it was half a date.”
Then a person among the Ansar came there with a moneybag, which his hands could scarcely lift; in fact, his hands could not lift it. Then the people followed continuously, until I saw two heaps of eatables and clothes. I saw the face of the Messenger radiate with pleasure, like gold. The Messenger of Allah said,
He who sets a good example in Islam, there is a reward for him for this (act of goodness) and reward of that also who acted according to it subsequently, without any deduction from their rewards.
Whoever sets in Islam an evil example, there is upon him the burden of that evil and the burden of him also who acted upon it subsequently, without any deduction from their burden.“
Muslim recorded this Hadith via the chain of Shu`bah.
Therefore, Allah’s statement,
O you who believe! Have Taqwa of Allah,
ordains the Taqwa of Allah which pertains to obeying what He ordered and staying away from what He forbade.
and let every person look to what he has sent forth for tomorrow,
meaning, hold yourselves accountable before you are recompensed, and contemplate what you have kept for yourselves of good deeds for the Day of your return and being paraded before your Lord,
Have Taqwa of Allah,
again ordering Taqwa,
Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
Allah asserts that surely, He knows all of your deeds – O mankind – and actions. Nothing that pertains to you ever escapes His observation, nor any matter of yours, whether major or minor, is ever beyond His knowledge
Sometimes I can’t believe that this man, this great alim, was born in my land and he used to speak my same language! I remember when I was 11 years old, my mother used to listen with me to some tapes with his lessons, sometimes he tried to speak with his broken Albanian to the Albanian students, and I considered all this so sweet and caring.
May Allah grant Jannah to this blessed man with a wise and soft heart, may Allah grant to this ummah people like him.
One who recites Surah Sajdah on Friday eve, Allah would bestow him His scroll of deeds in his right hand, and account will not be taken of what he had done, and he will be of the companions of Muhammad and his Ahle Bayt (a.s.).
And your Lord says, “Call upon Me; I will respond to you.” Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible.
And your Lord said:
Allah encourages His servants to call upon Him, and He guarantees to respond.
Sufyan Ath-Thawri used to say:
“O You Who love most those who ask of You, and O You Who hate most those who do not ask of You, and there is no one like that apart from You, O Lord.”
This was recorded by Ibn Abi Hatim.
Similarly; the poet said:
“Allah hates not to be asked, and the son of Adam hates to be asked.”
Qatadah said that Ka`b Al-Ahbar said,
“This Ummah has been given three things which were not given to any nation before, only to Prophets.
When Allah sent a Prophet, He said to him, `You are a witness over your nation.’ But you have been made witnesses over mankind;
it was said to the Prophets individually, `Allah has not laid upon you any hardship in religion,’ but He said to this entire Ummah:
وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكمْ فِى الدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍ
(and (Allah) has not laid upon you in religion any hardship), (22:78)
andit was said to the Prophets individually; `Call upon Me, I will answer you,’ but it was said to this Ummah,
(Call upon Me, I will answer you).”
<ibn Abi Hatim.>
Imam Ahmad recorded that Al-Nu`man bin Bashir, may Allah be pleased with him, said,
“The Messenger of Allah said:
إِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ هُوَ الْعِبَادَة
Indeed the supplication is the worship.”
At-Tirmidhi said, “Hasan Sahih.”
Verily, those who scorn My worship,
means, `those who are too proud to call on Me and single Me out,’
they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!
means, in disgrace and insignificance.
Imam Ahmad recorded from `Amr bin Shu`ayb from his father, from his grandfather that the Prophet said:
The proud will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection like ants in the image of people, and everything will be stepping on them, humiliating them, until they enter a prison in Hell called Bulas. They will be fed flames of fire, and given for drink a paste of insanity dripping from the people the Fire.
I really love that new poetry meme, and as poetry recitation is one of my favourite hobbies, I wanted to post one of these for a while - but I wasn´t sure about it, as English isn´t my native language. So this was the perfect opportunity!
Also, one lovely canadian wanted to hear it. @tinx-methinks
Disclaimer: I didn´t write this poem (that was @steegeschnoeber, great job!), nor did the blackletter in the image (´twas @salparadisewasright)
…The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardshipand [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.
And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided…
