Pencil2d tip: Don’t be a fool like me and tries to zoom in or out on the camera layer
It will change your animation’s size in comparison to the canvas, filling you with despair and rage. Only zooms on the bitmap layer(haven’t tried zooming in the vector layer so I don’t know if its also safe or not).
If you wants to purposefully change your canvas size without affecting the drawings just double click the camera layer and insert the lenghtxheight values you want (this will create more space for you to draw on but will not change the size of what you already drew)
IN CASE YOU MESSED UP AND ALREADY DID IT AND NOW IS FREAKING OUT LIKE I DID:
1- Don’t panic just yet. Double click the camera layer and insert the lenght x height values you want in the pop-up window.
2 - GET THE HECK OUT OF THE CAMERA LAYER like go to the bitmap layer like I said before and don’t panic because the edges disappeared or something.
3 - Now you can zoom in and out to compare your drawings size to the canvas. If it is still too big or too small, go back to the camera layer and zoom in to increase its size or zoom out to shrink it. THEN GO TO ANOTHER LAYER and zoom in and out to see if your animation is now fitting the correct size. The edges should have come back now too.
4 - Save before it is too late.
I’m making a post about it because I couldn’t find a explanation for what was happening to my drawings in any pencil2d forum and had to figure out what was happening myself
A important edit:
Turns out that all you gotta do is go back to the camera layer and press
ctrl + H to set everything back to normal. If you do what I described
above images that you exported from your animation might come back
smaller than the animation when you import them back. But I don’t know the steps I wrote before might still be helpful for something else.
