Throwback to that one time Loki wagered his head that the dwarves couldn’t forge some sick gifts for the gods and when they did, they were like, “Cool, man, the gods love our sick gifts; off with your head.”
And Loki went, “Fine. A deal’s a deal, I guess.”
But when the dwarves leaned in to chop off Loki’s head, he held up his hands and went, “Whoa, whoa, whoa, my dudes—I said you could have my head; I didn’t say anything about my neck.”
And then the dwarves were like, “What the hell, man? How are we supposed to cut off your head without touching your neck?”
And Loki shrugged and took a swig of Jack, probably, and went, “That sounds like a you problem.”
And then the dwarves asked the gods, “Is there any way to shut this guy up so he can’t smooth-talk his way out of legally-binding bloodshed? Any way at all?”
The gods went, “Yeah, no, not unless you staple his mouth shut.”
Then the dwarves were like, “Staplers don’t exist yet but we have the next best thing.”
So they sewed Loki’s mouth shut so he couldn’t smooth-talk his way out of anything else for at least an hour, the end, thanks for coming to Norse mythology corner, I’m your host, the asshole who got his mouth sewn shut for at least an hour.
Lesbians are weird. Like you guy made up just like that? Me and Remus had a week long fight last week about me leaving the window cracked open. And don’t even get me started about the month before that....
The wig isn’t done and in fact doesn’t fit quite right, but I commissioned the outfit and LORDY I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. IT FITS LIKE A GODDAMN D R E A M, and I look pretty killer in it if I do say so myself!!
Finally got around to posting some of our She-Ra and Queen Angella cosplay! I loved cosplaying Adora in her full She-Ra get up and we got some incredible photos! If you see yourself in these photos tag yourself!
Well here they are! Two finished versions of Kel, as seen at ECCC 2019. For those who may be wondering, I had two sparrows on me (you can just about see Nari on my belt pouch) and yes, I made a griffin-feather band to go with my Lady Knight Kel outfit.
Oh! And that fantastic Hipolyta I posed with can be found over on Instagram @dr.sneej!
So, the big design decision behind my Percy is more 17/18th century touches & not so many 19th century. Just a personal challenge.
I’ve been struggling with a design for Diplomacy because everything I came up with felt too Iron Man. But, I think I found something!
I’ve been doing some research and found some things that look promising for my design direction for Diplomacy – it should look dangerous and uncomfortable to wear. I like the idea that Percy gets shocked whenever he uses it. XD
I’m toying with the idea that Percy has invented a battery to keep Diplomacy’s charge. So, let’s find a period appropriate battery!
This is a voltaic stack, an early battery invented by Italian physicist Alessandro Volta at the end of the 18th century. (Yes, it fits in my timeline!)
It’s alternating zinc & copper, separated by brine-soaked cloth.
And then, I found this cool 16th century prosthetic. Which led me down some rabbit holes of post-apoc power gloves, of all things.
I like to “sketch” with real materials, so I grabbed some scrap and bought a box of washers.
My idea will be to have a series of battery cuffs that wire into a glove.
It’s a bit rough (again, scrap, no effort to do more than rough cuts), but I am digging it enough to continue.
Tomorrow, I’m gonna pick up some proper mats and make a cuff for realsies and see how the concept works out.
