The thing about life is that even on the darkest of days, there’s still a glint of hope. It’s the stars, peeking through the smoggy sky. It’s the moon burnt red in fire. It’s strings of lights run by glints of copper, twining through the trees and the old rafters. The hen that pecks at a dying land. The gears that keep turning. And the thing about life is that even when we come undone, there’s always going to be someone or something to pick you back up, help get your feet moving again, help you find another light to cling too, another ember to fan into your own burning flames. Ian’s been moving through the ashes for far too long, and Caleb might not have realized his flames were burning so low. But the way that the world works, is that it tends to put you in exactly the right spot, at exactly the same time. Or maybe that’s just luck. Some could even argue it’s bad luck. No matter what it is, though, it’s there. And you have to deal with it.
OTHER INFORMATION -
When an old friend shows up at Caleb’s farm, he finds the full wrath of the Capitol Council brought down upon him. When given a choice between keeping Ian safe, or keeping ownership of the last farm in the country, Caleb knows that there’s only one choice he can make. Keep them both, of course.

*We Come Undone is, at heart, a story about healing, farming, and finding your own family.
The idea first came to me in a movie theater. In the winter of 2017, Fathom Events put on a special, two-day production of Disney’s Newsies The Broadway Musical. It seemed like fortuitous timing; I had recently gotten over a cold by binge-watching the 1992 live-action musical film, Newsies, and this was the first I’d heard of any Broadway adaptation. (Little-known to me at the time: It had already attracted a sizable and passionate fanbase and won two Tony Awards in 2012, to boot.)
When the lights came up and the newsies danced their way offstage, I was struck by a fleeting thought: There has to be more to this story, right? The little I knew of the film and, now, the musical, suggested that the story was rooted in historical fact, but I wanted to know more.
At first, I thought I’d do a little research on the backstory of the 1899 strike and turn it into a longform article. For weeks afterward, I sifted through a fraction of the 2.5 million search results for “newsies the musical” in hopes of unearthing the real story behind Jeremy Jordan’s belt and Kara Lindsay’s writer’s block and the newsies’ pirouettes up and down the streets of Manhattan. I watched the Broadway musical again, then the 1992 film again, then Broadway bootlegs, then every fan video and musical cover on YouTube. I discovered David Nasaw’s Children of the City, a 1985 study of American newsboys and newsgirls in the 19th and 20th centuries. I pieced together interviews and anecdotes, watched documentaries and behind-the-scenes compilations for the film and musical, and sampled some of the more popular fanfiction written about Jack Kelly and his posse of fictional newsies.
About seven months into this research process, it dawned on me that I was never going to be able to condense everything I’d learned into a single article. The idea of writing an entire book was completely intimidating, but I dashed off a query letter to a small independent press anyway. What could it hurt? The worst they could say was ‘no,’ giving me a reason to set aside my obsession and focus on something else.
Except that two days later, I had a response. They wanted to see a book proposal, and suddenly this project I’d only been dreaming about was becoming a reality. I won’t bore you with the story of the entire process—suffice to say, there were many all-nighters pulled, many books highlighted, many McDonald’s no-pickle cheeseburgers and beet chips inhaled, many moments of panic and indecision survived—but nearly two years later, the book I never thought I’d write is finally a real, tangible thing.
If you count yourself among the devoted ‘Fansies’ or have any kind of casual interest in child labor rights, 19th-century history, and/or a thorough critique of the way Disney’s beloved IP interacts with and manipulates historical events, you can purchase or request review copies of Newsies vs. The World on Amazon, Goodreads, and Theme Park Press.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
Hey, all! Do you want to read a Douglas Adams-style science fiction novel starring a bisexual Afro-Latina, a bisexual, polyamorous male stripper, a trans lesbian, and a gay Jewish man?
If the answer is yes, you’re in luck! I wrote one, and I just signed the publication contract. If all goes according to plan, it will be on the market in 2019.
In the meantime, I have lots of work to do, particularly in assembling my launch team. A launch team is essentially a group of fans who help to promote the book and ensure it’s a success. I will be making a post specifically for recruiting prospective launch team members this afternoon, so be sure to message me now if you’d like to get in early and know what it entails.
In the meantime, I’ve created a sideblog specifically for this book, the publication process, curious readers, and original art. So check out @generaltsoschickenfromouterspace, feel free to shower me with questions, and stay tuned for future updates!
The second series in this universe is in the works, but nevermind that for now.
Christmas is coming.
I figured I’d just remind you guys (or let you know) since you can put one of my books on your Christmas list.
Just a thought.
if you’re not sure you want to try the full series yet, you could try reading Borderlines. It’s a standalone romance novel. It’s gay. And camp…y.
Anyway. Just thought I’d remind you that I’ve written a fuckton and would appreciate some support as a burgeoning author.
And if you can’t (or don’t want to, which is fine) buy a copy, even online where it’s (cough) super cheap, like 3 dollars (on Kindle anyway), then do me a favor.
Reblog this post so others can see it.
Thanks in advance.
And here’s the summary for Gallows Humor:
To some, the idea of committing horrendous acts of violence and cruelty against another human being is repulsive. To others, it is a regrettable occurrence, a last resort but always an option. And for a select few, it’s a hobby.
Locations where a horrifying crime or crimes have occurred are known as “haunted” places. They are relatively harmless, miserable, but lacking any real danger. Ghosts can’t hurt you, after all.
The same cannot be said for a Revenant.
When a person dies in a haunted place, he or she can be resurrected by the spirits inhabiting that physical space and become a paranormal entity with bizarre, lethal superhuman abilities based on the nature of their death. Because of these terrifying powers a Revenant gains upon resurrection, humans struggle to keep them contained in the Mausoleum, a prison designed to contain them and create revenue for scientific research by forcing Revenants to participate in brutal death matches.
Naïve young intern Roman Sheer enters this twisted world searching for a purpose in life, but he soon receives more than he ever expected when a long-time resident, the violent, mentally unstable Revenant number Ten, massacres several employees. But during the incident, Ten unexpectedly spares Roman’s life, prompting the Mausoleum director to reassign Roman to his case. Roman soon learns that he shares a complicated past with Ten, one which he mysteriously cannot remember. As he attempts to piece together his own past and learn more about Ten, the other Revenants, and the meaning of their existence, he struggles with his perceptions of morality as he descends into the chaotic world of the undead.
Hi everyone! Since I had a lot of anon asks in my inbox about The Predator - Book 1, I wanted to address it all in one place rather than flood everyone’s dash.
1.The Predator - Book 1 - is set to release in January 2020. *cue internal screaming in 50 different languages*
This means between the book stuff and my real job, I will not be able to complete The Predator Fanfiction on AO3.
For that, I am deeply sorry. It is my fault because I promised you all that it would be wrapped by the end of the year and I overestimated my own capacity to multitask. That is on me and I understand all of you who are disappointed and mad about that. I’m sorry. It’s a lesson that I will take to heart going forward. Please accept my sincere apology.
3. The January release also means I will need to take the fanfiction down from AO3 before that for legal reasons.
While the fanfiction will remain unfinished, the story will not be because it will be completed and resolved in the duet of books.
4. The book cover is being designed currently and the manuscript is being proofread. I will share the cover in a few weeks once it’s done.
5. The book will be available worldwide through Amazon and on Kindle in both ebook and paperback formats, so you can get it however you like.
6. Pre-orders will be available and open in December. I will share the links in case you wish to order early, don’t worry.
7. I also have a website in progress where you’ll be able to find the books and upcoming releases. I’ll be adding the Newsletter option so you can stay updated with any new news if you’d like that.
8. And I’m going to continue using a pen name. The new pen name will out with the book cover.
9.The Reaper - Book 2 of the duet, will be out in 2020 as well, the exact time will be updated.
10. And no, I am not leaving the fandom just because I’m branching out.
Hell, at this point you couldn’t pry me away with hot tongs! We’ve been through way too much together. I’ll still be screaming all things Olicity and writing my favorite ship in all kinds of AUs as much as possible while creating a different original universe for my own characters. I’m not leaving, just spreading my wings.
Also, I wanted to thank each and every one of you. I know I sound like a broken record but I wouldn’t have been here without you. You have changed my life and me for the better and you are all such an essential part of who I am, I cannot put it into words. This fandom has given me friends, family, and a fraternity, unlike anything I had ever dreamed. So thank you for all the love and encouragement and support and random caps lock screaming you have blessed me with since my first day back in 2015 with Free Fall. We have come so far and I hope we keep going farther. Thank you!

As I announced earlier, my novel, General Tso’s Chicken From Outer Space, is coming out in 2019, and I couldn’t be more excited! Now it’s time for me to recruit my launch team to ensure that the book is a success.
What does a launch team do?
A member of my launch team may do one or more of the following:
Read the book (for free) before its release date.
Commit to buying the book in ebook and/or paperback format.
Review the book on Amazon, Goodreads, and your personal blog.
Reblog updates about the book from my blog.
Promote the book on your social media profiles.
Create fanart, fanfics, or edits to help promote the book.
Post photographs of the book/themselves reading the book.
What is the book about?
General Tso’s Chicken From Outer Space is the story of a pastel-obsessed, neurotic, aspiring author who’s just relocated to an eccentric UFO hotspot town.
Following the crash of a mysterious object into a local cornfield, she finds herself sheltering a snarky, chain-smoking alien fugitive, with the help of her charismatic, flagrantly bisexual ex-boyfriend, a taciturn but sympathetic Man in Black, and a beautiful lesbian cryptozoologist currently giving her a sexual identity crisis.
You’ll enjoy this book if any of the following is true about you:
You like Douglas Adams, Lemony Snicket, and Terry Pratchett books.
You like Welcome to Night Vale.
You like The X-Files (and are still crushing hard on Dana Scully.)
You love Supernatural, but wish there was more diversity.
You love references to classical philosophy and literature.
You want more books starring complex people of color and queer people.
You want a book where virtually the entire main cast is queer.
If you’re interested in joining my launch team, message me now! Stay tuned for future updates!
@swoonreads is accepting manuscripts for cycle 8 and I have two books that are part of this season’s list. A few months ago, I released the novel version for Laws of Motion & Attractionand it has garnered a lot of reads, putting it on the list of highest rated and trending manuscripts on SwoonReads. I have you guys to thank for that achievement. I am really hoping and praying the editors would consider publishing the book!
Meanwhile, I was also editing another book which is the first in a series. CRAVEwas written in 2014 as a fanfiction, one which I know you all loved and swooned over. <3 And today, in the year 2016, I am releasing it again as a book series, this time.
I didn’t plan to release it on SwoonReads, wanting to submit to another publisher instead. But I figured I wanted you guys to read it and get feedback on the changes I’ve made. And it wouldn’t hurt to have another entry, right? :) Plus if it doesn’t work out, I can always resubmit to another publisher.
Okay without further ado, here’s how you can help me get it published! I already explained much of the details on my other post for Laws of Motion & Attraction, but I will post it here again for those who only ever read Crave.
There are never before seen scenes– and new chapters! The fanfic was originally consisting of 11 chapters, but this book…. has 32!
Names. Though I did keep the names of the leads, the rest are different. I will provide a post where I’ll compare the character names from the fanfic and to this book. There’s also a minor character addition.
Improved dialogues and technical aspect (grammar, POV, spelling, etc.)
What is Swoon Reads?
It’s an imprint under Macmillan Publishers and Feiwel and Friends that publishes books through their website in the manner of crowd-sourcing; meaning if your manuscript gets a lot of ratings/comments, they would consider publishing your book into trade book and e-book. You can learn more about it here.
How can I help you publish CRAVE?
Simple… All you have to do is READ the book on the SwoonReads site, RATE (this is important!), WRITE COMMENTS (this too!), and SHARE! SwoonReads is looking for swoon-worthy young and new adult novels that will get the attention of the community. So the higher ratings I get, the more chances of getting my book published! <3
OKAY, GOT IT! How do I start?
You’ll need to make a SwoonReads account (it’s FREE!) here. With that you can access the e-book. Here’s the LINK. And that’s it! You can read and swoon over the book (again, for free!) Also, with an account you’ll be able to check out the other manuscripts and even submit one of your own!
I really want to get you published! What more can I do?
I really want that to happen too! And the best help would be to spread the word! I need to get as much readers to be noticed so recommending this book to your family and friends would be awesome! (Please keep in mind to recommend the NOVEL version)
As a final note, I hope you all enjoy this version. This story is very close to my heart and it means the world to me. I hope you will love it the way I have poured my love–blood sweat and tears–into writing this novel. ;)
Thank you guys! And yes, V…. We’re ready for you (again).
