Race: Frost Demon
Born in the ancient past, long before space travel or technology, Hytherm was born on the original Frost Demon homeworld. He was born to a coward of a father who, when being pursued by slavers, decided to save his own skin and sell his baby son to said slavers.
Thankfully for Hytherm, the clan leader who he was sold to saw potential in him, and decided to have him raised as an elite warrior, knowing a free warrior would be far more loyal to him than an enslaved one.
It was a time of turmoil for the planet; various clans vied for power, and Hytherm’s clan leader was among the most ruthless and cruel. He wanted to take over all the clans and unite the Frost Demons under his rule. However, he made sure Hytherm would be raised sheltered from all that to ensure that Hytherm would believe that this was all being done for the ‘greater good’.
So Hytherm was given to another Frost Demon, a non-warrior, to raise. The clan leader was only involved to teach Hytherm to fight. The other man, a much kinder man, was the one who played with Hytherm, taught him morals, ect. The only thing he was not allowed to teach Hytherm was how to read and write, since the clan leader still wanted a measure of control over him.
Hytherm grew up rather happy, loving the man who raised him like a father, and befriending a rare Frost Demon female who was also being raised to be a warrior. However, she was not as strong as he was, so while he was being raised to be an elite, she was only being raised to be a common soldier. It didn’t stop them from becoming good friends, however.
Eventually, Hytherm grew up, and started fighting in the war. He fully believed what his clan leader had told him, but there was a problem: Hytherm had been raised with such high morals, and possessed a keen sense of empathy, so much, that he balked at killing innocents and other warriors. He did not enjoy it, and often questioned why they had to take the others by force.
His friend, meanwhile, was not given the luxury of having been raised sheltered; she had been exposed to the true horrors early on. And, seeing Hytherm starting to question things despite his upbringing, she saw that as an opportunity to reveal to her friend what they were truly doing. To show that the clan leader was nothing more than a cruel tyrant who only cared about power.
Hytherm was devastated. The man he had nothing but respect for, the man who was his teacher had been lying to him his entire life. He resolved to help his friend change things, and the two started a rebellion, gathering like minded individuals.
Unfortunately, it did not end well. Hytherm was badly injured by the clan leader himself; Hytherm’s horns were cut off, and that’s when he got the scar on his face. He was left to die, deemed a failure… and would have probably been finished off by someone else if his friend had not found him and carried him away from the battle.
He told her to return to the battle; that she needed to win. Assured her he was fine. And though she was worried, she went, knowing they couldn’t lose this opportunity, since Hytherm had weakened the clan leader. Hytherm lay back to die, angry, bitter, and frightened, but knowing it was the end for him…
Until a ‘slip’ in time occurred, and Hytherm suddenly found himself in Conton City, in the Time Nest, bleeding out all over the floor in front of a shocked Supreme Kai of Time and Trunks.
Hytherm is, to put it simply, rather grumpy on the outside but a giant softie on the inside. He’s very nervous in crowds and in cities, and he’s basically a boomer with technology. He’s too shy to make friends easily, but when he does befriend someone, they can be sure of his loyalty. He is a deeply compassionate man who despises fighting, despite being a trained warrior. He has a somewhat ancient code of honor, though he does eventually learn to adapt to more modern ideals. He speaks very formally and with a heavy Russian accent. He hates English, but he of course had no choice but to learn it, as it had become Galactic Standard.
He has no tolerance of criminals and evil acts, though if he must fight he will disarm/render his enemy unable to fight and show mercy. He absolutely loves children and animals in general, and is much softer and gentler toward them. For some reason, he really likes the microwave and pizza bites. If you introduced him to a hot tub, he’d probably love you forever.
The necklace he always wears was a gift from the man who was like a father to him, though that man had long since died before Hytherm had even showed up in Conton.
