Day 1 of my tea detox has been great! I want to start off by saying I did not ease into this, yesterday I pigged out and ate as much as I could because I knew today I wouldn’t be able to eat those things. As I was drinking my coffee yesterday I freaked a little thinking maybe I should have eased off coffee so I didn’t have caffeine withdrawals, because they are terrible if you have never had them. I actually have been very alert today, more so than when I have coffee, and haven’t had any symptoms of withdrawal. (Usually when I don’t have coffee in the morning I have a massive headache by noon.)
I managed to eat clean today and had no cravings. I even was able to fit sushi into my macros and since it is clean with little to no processed foods in it I ate my weight in sushi haha!
I have my macros set at 40% carbs 30% protein and 30% fats for now, with 1500 calories a day. I am a firm believer in eating more than 1200 calories a day, like most fat loss diets put you on. Before my intake was set at 1800 but with me eating little processed foods I am able to eat more volume throughout the day so hitting 1500 calories is actually a lot of food, and I am not depriving myself.
I tried to stay active today to ward off any cravings because they are usually the worst on days I am off work. I walked my dogs one at a time this morning, I have 3, and then went to the gym with my boyfriend this afternoon.
As far as the tea goes the morning/lunch tea is delicious in my opinion. It was very flavorful, I didn’t have to add any sweetener, and I feel like it quenched my thirst very well. The nighttime detox tea, which is consumed every other day, didn’t smell so good when I opened the bag and I’d like to tell you that it was delicious when I drank it but it wasn’t. I do not care for the taste at all and it has a very strong flavor, but it is every other day so I can suck it down.
Overall, I’ve had a good first day and am very excited to see things start happening. I’ll update again in a couple of days!
