I just finished the movie [REC]
and I can honestly say that it’s one of the better/scarier horror flicks I’ve seen in a long time. If I have one critique, though, it’s that not nearly enough filthy zombies were put out of their misery. If I was trapped in a Barcelona apartment building with Manuela Velasco (who got hotter as she got sweatier, bloodier, and more terrified), I would’ve found an axe and cleansed that building entirely of the undead, room by room. It’s a simple equation: If there’s no zombies, there’s no worries.
They didn’t even try to look for a weapon. All they did was attempt to communicate with the zombies, politely asking if they had permission to handcuff them to furniture. Listen, if one of my neighbors suddenly gets all Z-ed up and starts biting people, I’m not asking questions. I’m decapitating them. You can be sure that if there’s ever a zombie outbreak in my apartment building, I’ll have it ready for new tenants in under an hour. No question about it.
Still, it’s definitely worth the watch.
