Codi sat at the bar with Maximus, sipping her drink and looking at the crowd. Quite a few people had showed up to the luau, and they seemed to be having a lot of fun. She turned to Max, who was still drinking his whiskey. “Come on, let’s go dance or something,” she said, wanting to at least try to mingle with the people.
Max gave her a small glare. “ωну ∂σ ωє иєє∂ тσ ∂αиςє?”
“Because it would be a lot more fun than sitting here watching you get drunk,” she replied stubbornly. She came to have fun and she wasn’t going to let him ruin it.
“ρєσρℓє мαу тнιик ωє'яє α ςσυρℓє σя ѕσмєтнιиg.”
“Oh no they won’t. Come on, let’s go!” Codi drug her reluctant companion to where the other people were mingling and dancing and began to dance to the music.
Maximus, however, just stood there with his arms crossed.
