"If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
As a former slave to my own desires, I know what it’s like to be trapped. As if nothing else matters but you and that thing – desires of the flesh, desires of the eyes, pride in possessions. These things broke my heart. Made it cold. Made it hard. Made me hurt people. Made me hurt myself. Trapped. In a dark cell of my own sin.
But I rejoice. Because light overcomes darkness. Because truth overcomes lies. Because blood covers sin. Because through the life, death, and resurrection of one man, ALL were able to be forgiven, be redeemed, and be free to really live again! There is forgiveness. There is healing. There is joy. As David Crowder sings, “Love has come! What joy to hear! He has overcome, He has overcome!” By grace, I’ve been saved out of that dark cell & have been brought to green pastures & quiet waters. By grace, I’ve been forgiven & freed from sin.
Jesus Christ. Is more than a carpenter. He is rebuilding my life. Moment by moment, day by day.
I am forever grateful for the love God has showed to me through Him. Yes, I fall short everyday. I mess up all the time. Old habits/attitudes come up every once in a while. But the difference is, my life is now hidden in Christ Jesus. See. The truth sets people free …
And Truth Is … To know Christ is to live.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Jesus
