Bitching about people saying Nakamura is their “waifu”, claiming they only like her (a woman in gaming) because she’s Asian and therefore she can be fetishized.
Imagine seeing people love a female industry vet, love what her game is offering, and she’s nothing but joy on stage, and then bitching about that.
These are the people who are really keeping women out of gaming. Not gamers.

Bethesda: *maintains unblinking eye contact with me as it slams Ikumi Nakamura and Ghostwire on the table in front of me*

Apparently Ikumi Nakamura just left Tango Gameworks before Ghostwire Tokyo’s release. Her Twitter today said she was leaving the studio.
I wish her all the best, ofc, but this is… off. The game was for all intents and purposes her baby, and she’s been known to be Shinji Mikami’s successor. Not to mention, the game’s just barely been announced at E3 - so the hell happened there?

New Bethesda IP just announced from Tango Gameworks! It looks really cool! Should be good if Shinji Mikami is on board, I’ve liked just about everything he’s worked on so far, from Resident Evil to The Evil Within and everything in between…
Also this is the first time I’ve seen Ikumi Nakamura, the art director, and she is adorable. I love how enthusiastic she is about this project <3
