I just finished entering all of my recorded weigh-ins (going back to 2018) from my fitbit app into a spreadsheet because I was interested in seeing the trends and comparisons.
Some interesting observations:
I gained roughly 20 pounds between the beginning of this year and June, but I’ve lost almost all of that over the past nine weeks 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Between June of last year and June of this year, I gained 50 pounds.
Over the span of 2019, I gained 55 pounds. Clearly 2019 was a rough year for me.
I bounced around between 160 and 175 in 2018, and I remember feeling really good about where I was at then. That’s where I want to be again.
So this pretty much confirms my plan to approach my current weight loss effort in four phases:
Phase 1: 240 ➡️ 220 (almost complete!)
Phase 2: 220 ➡️ 200 (will put me back to where I was in the middle of 2019)
Phase 3: 200 ➡️ 180 (will put me back to where I was at the beginning of 2019)
Phase 4: 180 ➡️ 160 (probably more of a happy range, like where I was in 2018)
And to answer the inevitable “Why did you gain so much weight back?” questions I’m going to get, I have three words for you: Stress, Alcohol, Depression. Idk what else to tell you. But I’ve been making improvements in all three of those areas.
