Okay, the first thing you should do is just to spend a lot of time looking around on AliExpress and seeing if there’s any specific type of product or product category that you feel is the right one for you.This is really something you really should think over because it’s important to find a niche or other area that feels right for you but that’s not the only important thing. It’needs to be profitable or you won’t be able to quit your day job this century, right? 😉 And it’s always easier if it’s also a product or products that you either feel an interest in or which you have extensive knowledge about so that you can provide excellent customer service and product descriptions etc.

I’d say that every hour you spend researching what type of products your shop is going to sell is worth 10 hours of extra work if you don’t do the research and find that you’ve chosen the wrong products and then has to start from scratch again.
After you’ve done this, you need to find AliExpress suppliers that are willing to drop ship your choice of products and you should make sure that they have an overall feedback rate of 95 or more percent. Their 3 other measured areas should preferably be at least 4,5 or higher in average, most important in my experience is a high rating for shipping speed. You also need to check each product’s own rating, the closer to 5-star rating as possible but I recommend that you only pick products with at least 4,7 in rating. If the product doesn’t have any own rating yet, then you need to make a total assessment of the seller’s overall feedback.
Step 2: Which E-commerce solution should I choose for an online store based on drop shipping?

Not all e-commerce solutions are suitable for drop shipping, some even don’t allow it, some are simply too expensive but most often they lack any way or external service that makes it easy enough to add products from AliExpress. Because if you were going to first download all the photos and information from a product listing at AliExpress to your own computer, then upload it to the e-commerce solution and finally, puh, put together the text and the photos you’d like to use it will take you probably 10 years to upload the number of products you’d like in your store.
I did a fair amount of research before I finally picked Shopify, the only other solution that even came close was BigCommerce. But I like the dashboard and the other interface of Shopify better, it’s user-friendly and they have many both free and paid themes that help make your store look professional. Another thing that’s nice about Shopify is that you get 14 days of free trial and then the cheapest package costs $29 per month and that package will be sufficient until you’ve managed to make your online store grow the sales volume.
The last thing that won me over was the app that’s available in Shopify’s app store called Oberlo. This app works by helping you with all the time-consuming processes I mentioned above because with a simple click in the free Chrome extension that they also offer, it imports all the photos and the product description, price etc. directly to Oberlo’s own dashboard where you can in a simple way edit it before you with another quick click, upload the product straight into your Shopify store.
