the year is 2020. everybody in the financial sector of the middle class, the upper class, the obscenely wealthy billionaire class, and celebrity class has a handheld device on which they may access the world’s information with a few taps of the thumb. the corporations that provide this information hoard the personal secrets of these people to use and sell at their discretion. the poorest financial class sectors, the “unskilled” laborers, the homeless, and the undocumented are constantly hunted by the government’s soldiers, the cops, and are beaten in the streets at the slightest provocation. technology is everywhere. if you walk into a restaurant, you may select your soda from a wide selection on a screen and watch it pour into your cup. a simple wristwatch is used to notify you when somebody has attempted to make contact via your personal handheld device. then, one day, in a city called wuhan in china, a man ate an infected bat stew, thus becoming patient zero for a virus called covid-19. the virus is spreading rapidly, and nobody is safe. countries are going on lockdown. italy doesn’t have enough space in the morgues for their dead. the lower and middle classes are panicking as their loved ones with fevers are being denied testing, whole cities are confined to their homes, while the class of the billionaires and the celebrities are being granted access to tests without exhibiting so much as a sniffle. they all are singing and smiling as if nothing is wrong. but there is one hero who has risen from the ashes to save the neglected lower and middle classes. her name? britney spears.
