  2. Making art is kinda like battle against yourself.

You tend to hate what you are doing, want to stop, quit forever. It might feel like you are too far, from achieving the impossible thing called perfection

It’s not easy to find strengths, stand up and say to yourself: You have to keep going and fight. Finish what you have started.

One more doodle, one more filled sketchbook, one more finished painting.

It’s very hard. More than a lot of people give credit to it. It’s a fight, battle, that you might or might not win. But it’s always worth to try.

  3. me, scrolling through my own art tag: so which one of these styles do I want to try emulate today

  4. When you’re almost posting this draw you spent the last 4 hours doing but decide to make just a few more adjustments…

And then your PC crashes and you remember

you haven’t saved a single shit

  5. I might not be a painter, but I have my own version of canvass stretching. (It’s formerly rolled paper that won’t stay flat)

  6. me: puts my tablet pen down for 0.00001 seconds

    my tablet pen:

  7. me: MAN I LOVE ME SOME ADVENTURE TIME!

also me: *doesent finishes the wip fanart of the come along with me cuz of college*

  8. Artist problems #1

I’ve recently changed my tablet to a Huion tablet. The first thing to know about these is that the pen needs to be charged up once in a while.

And I’ve lost the cable for the stupid pen.

    FML.

  9. #Tumblr’s cleaning house and, as users, you’ve always gotta be mindful of the platform you’re using, especially if you’re using it to monetize or gain exposure. So in today’s video I’m going to give my thoughts about what Tumblr did wrong–and where a very specific portion of ITS users messed up.

  10. Art Habits Meme

(aka: i have a messyass setup)

Tagged by @crazy-fruit because she wanted to make this a thing LOL (check out her meme, as well as @spacepandar‘s original post that led up to this)

Here are my terrible habits (for digital drawings, anyway) :

    1. Three. Monitor. System. these days i’m picky and this is absolutely necessary now. This is a product of about 5 years of saving money and waiting on black friday sales + end-of-year student sales
    2. I have a supremely specific setup with them: I absolutely need to have white noise in the form of TV that i don’t have to pay full attention to; I cannot have my navigator in the same monitor as my tablet (for color and perspective checking purposes), and; one monitor must have reference drawings and mood photos, which, more often than not, spill over to the third monitor. if that changes, i start to feel trapped and cranky by the “loss of space”
    3. does anyone ever label their layers? i don’t >__> i know that’ll bite me in the ass. i do group my layers in general folders though (one folder for sketch, one for lineart, one for color, etc.)
    4. RAM usage up the wazoo + GPU overload. No one monitor looks the same because of their color settings, so i have to move my navigator between all my monitors to make sure the color looks alright in each of them before i post. every hour or so, I stop and check out something on my browser tabs, spiking the RAM usage, and my monitors black out for a minute before coming back to life

if you’re interested in telling us your (terrible) art habits and/or showing us your drawing setup (digital or traditional), feel free to @hoofgirl @unicornsniper @fukamidori-chan!

Update: this post got flagged despite the censorship of female-presenting nipples, thx tumblr (liking my decision to stop posting my stuff here more and more now)
