  5. A Better Mechanicus

I know that this is the grim darkness of the far future and anything that isn’t mercilessly brutal is generally taken by fans to be too soft, or atypical of the setting, but i wanted to post my thoughts. I know the Mechanicus is a convoluted mess in terms of actual scientific advancement, but one thing they cherish is efficiency, and the results of this is what i want to imagine here.

While the AdMech does make use of servitors for tasks that are too menial or dangerous for baseline humans, Forge Worlds are typically run by legions of electoo’d humans in the name of the Magi above. It is my opinion/headcanon, that life for these humans is significantly better than on your average Imperial world, if for no reason other than efficiency.

The populace’s electoos allow the tech priests to get all their immediate medical data, and presumably take action based on it if problems are noted. A worker who is hungry would be given rations equivalent to the meals they missed before shift. One who is drowsy will be reassigned to night shift to be more in line with their sleep schedule. Diseases and accidents would be mercilessly stamped out with innoculations and ridged safety protocols.

Even if the number of human lives available is colossal, it is still in the interest of efficiency to make the best use of them for the longest amount of time. Doing so requires food, water, structured rest, and medical care, or else optimum performance can’t be achieved.

Meanwhile no other imperial world cares about peak efficiency, only that a job gets done as fast and as well as possible, human cost be damned. Every person is expected to locate their own food, lodging, medicine, etc, and fill their stomach with faith should they fail, creating resentment against Imperial rule.

Everything the average Imperial citizen has to scrounge for is in the best interests of a forge world to provide, as it not only increases productivity but also significantly decreases possibility of cult activity of a non-Chaos nature, denying actual Chaos worshippers a recruitment ground or a diversion.

TL;DR AdMech provide basic necessities to increase productivity, ensure loyalty, and prevent cult formation, ensuring a far better quality of life than the rest of the Imperium.

  9. So I’ve had the Mechanicus game for maybe three days now and I’ve already beaten it. It’s great though, I love it. It’s fun and challenging. Also beat it before the tomb reached max awakening too, 77%. Now I want to continue and see what happens when it reaches 100%.

  10. wNew idea for Ad Mech kill team: Skitarii Gardeners sect, carrying sprouts and little bonsai trees everywhere. Maybe worshipping plants as ultimate living machines. May allow for cool conversions and also denoting specialists with grass / leaves color (most of the team is green, three specialists are yellow/orange/dark green/dead branches, like seasons).

Maybe I will do some sketches later, this is just general aesthetics post.
