i am here and i have a tumblr. what year is it? ⭐ call me taffy! ⭐ 26, they/she, trans lesbian ⭐ i make art for a living, and sometimes I remember to post my art too! i also make music for fun and stream gaymer games most weekends, but I try not to make a big deal out of those or they'll feel like a second job. uhh also I'm a furry sorry. idk what else to put here. imagine me giving you a highfive right now ⭐ oh also DNI IF PRO-FICTION/PROSHIP!! keep that shit away from me thanks ⭐ (current pfp by @shockpine)

oh my god i don't think i've ever whipped out my uBlock gun and fired from the hip on ANYTHING quite so quickly as that fuckin terrifying pirate clown?? i had just enough time to see the phrase "one piece asset" in the inspect element box before i sent that thing directly to hell. please tell me whatever fucked up promotion they're doing is just for some kind of anniversary and will be over soon

"excited about new kitchen knives" this, "posting about housework" that. whatever. for me the REAL sign that the tumblr userbase is aging has been the gradual uptick in people admitting that one or both of Calvin's parents are gender goals

Thanks for all of the recent feedback around Community Labels being incorrectly applied to content. In particular, we appreciate the input we’ve received from the LGBTQIA+ community and understand the frustrations from folks who felt that their content was unfairly labeled. When we realized this was happening, we immediately investigated and are taking steps to prevent this from happening again.

The LGBTQIA+ community makes up about a quarter of the Tumblr community. It is important for us to support all Tumblr users, especially those whose safe spaces are under threat in certain parts of the world.

As you know, alongside of the rollout of Community Labels we also expanded the types of content allowed on Tumblr as a way to welcome more creativity, art, and self-expression. Our goals remain the same today. Human error happens and we apologize to anyone who has been impacted by these mistakes.

We are working to better understand what happened and will follow up with more information soon.

i've been playing through the leaked N64 prototype build of Dinosaur Planet (that rareware game that got turned into Starfox Adventures on the gamecube later) over the past couple nights and i gotta say... i think people gave the gibberish alien voice acting in Adventure a bit more hate than it deserved? like don't get me wrong, it WAS hilariously awkward and impossible to take seriously, but i'd take that shit ANY day over having to listen to... a handful of british people doing the most inscrutable attempts at racist accents i've maybe EVER heard in a video game??? like holy FUCK it's bad y'all. in fact the entire chunk of the game in Swapstone Circle is pretty much fully unsalvageable. the music, the iconography, the way the NPCs talk and are dressed, the literal most basic tropes of the storyline itself in that area... good grief, it's no wonder that entire chunk of the game was cut from the final product. absolutely wild that anyone at Rare thought that shit was okay to include, even 20+ years ago

terrible news: i WAS strongly under the impression they removed that section from Adventures, but it turns out I was mistaken?? they DID keep pretty much all of what I described in the final game, and I guess the reason nobody talks about it is because they pushed it into the back half of the game instead of right near the start, and I know almost nobody who actually played Adventures past the first couple hours.

but yeah idk, they DID tone things down a little but not enough? the Lightfoot dinosaurs still wear warpaint and feathers and they're ALSO still voiced fully in english, albeit with a revised take that's a bit more ambiguous about whether or not they're trying to do a bad accent (and I think the cutscene is shortened a fair bit too). they still have totem poles everywhere in their village but at least the Dynamic Proximity-Based Chanting around them is gone. however the plotline surrounding the Lightfoot tribe ambush still seems to be the same as the original, and that was VERY bad, so like... yeah now i'm even more baffled that they actually RELEASED it like this. 2002 was a wild time i guess
