I don't even know why I still have this account

@syselena

literally everything always feels like a performance to me. i'll be uncontrollably sobbing and will suddenly be like wow i would've won an oscar for this

I just read “Hufflepuff isn’t a house where you can stick people who don’t fit in the other houses”

But the thing is? It literally it is, Helga Hufflepuff said she would take the rest.

She preferred the loyal and hardworking for her house, but felt that everyone should have a chance. Not a Gryffindor, a Slytherin, or a Ravenclaw? Not a loyal, hardworking Hufflepuff either?

Well that’s okay. Helga Hufflepuff founded her house believing anyone should be given a chance at Hogwarts. Those four archetypes aren’t all that matter, and if you don’t fit any of them Hufflepuff will still welcome you.

Godric/Rowena/Salazar were perfectly happy to say “You don’t fit into our houses, you can’t come to Hogwarts” and it was only Helga who was willing to say “You might not fit my ideals of a student, but you can still be in my house”

Like. I think that’s super cool. I don’t like it when people shoehorn Hufflepuff into being one and the same like the rest of the houses, sure, loyalty, hardworking, kindness.. that’s the priority.. but it’s truly a place for everyone. And that’s where Hufflepuff’s kindness shines the most.

‘I’ll teach the lot And treat them just the same.’

‘Good Hufflepuff, she took the rest and taught them all she knew’

Hufflepuff’s pride as a house comes not only from loyalty, hardworking, toil, and kindness, but from diversity. Something the other founders did not realize the importance of.

I never really thought about this- but you are 100% right.

This is why I wanted to be in hufflepuff over any other house.

i like thinking about things critically but i also like not giving a fuck too so you can imagine the kind of stress i am under

Therapist Red Flags

Therapy is important and can be really helpful, but not all therapists are good at their job. Here’s a few things to look out for when you’re seeing a therapist:

  • Not listening to what you tell them
  • Ignoring confidentiality (except in emergencies)
  • Making you feel judged or ashamed
  • Ignoring or trivialising your needs
  • Consistently being late
  • Making fun of your needs / accomplishments
  • Being judgemental or critical of you
  • Not taking your feedback on sessions into account
  • Condescending facial expressions or body language
  • Ignoring what you want to do / accomplish in therapy
  • Talking too much about themselves
  • Making you feel like problems are all your fault
  • Being insensitive to your culture or religion
  • They’re making you feel bad about yourself
  • Using the phone or getting distracted during your sessions
  • Attempting to make romantic / sexual advances on you
  • Making you feel stupid or invalid for what you say or how you feel
  • Forgetting important details about you / your life
  • Pushing you too hard before you’re ready
  • You wondering if their behaviour is a red flag. If you’re looking it up then chances are you already feel uncomfortable in therapy. You should never be forced into seeing a therapist who makes you feel uneasy. There’s no shame in leaving and finding a different therapist.

a couple more. these are all things i have actually encountered with my past therapists.

  • misgendering you or others, making excuses for doing so (ex. “they/them pronouns are too hard to use”)
  • manipulating you into staying when you try to leave (ex. by saying no other therapist will want to take your case)
  • shortening the length of your session but still charging you the same / shortening the length of your sessions without consulting you

do not hesitate to leave a therapist if you are not getting what you need from them.

  • Looking for trauma/abuse that doesn’t exist to explain your symptoms instead of dealing with the problems you actually have
  • Assuming totally unrelated things are tied inextricably to your gender/sexuality/weight/race/whatever
  • Trying to convince you that something which is seriously impairing your ability to complete basic tasks is ‘perfectly normal’ or ‘something everybody deals with’.

I do very much want to stress that the fact that this therapist is a shithead does not mean therapy is not a good idea, because if you find a therapist who can actually do their fucking job that will improve your life immeasurably, but there are a lot of really bad therapists out there.

Ron: [is very jealous and obvious about his feelings towards Hermione when she goes to the Yule Ball]

Hermione:

Hermione: Hey Ginny you know how you've had a crush on Harry forever?

hilarious that game of thrones ended and the cultural moment it was producing vanished the day after the final episode aired everyone just stopped talking about it because it was that disappointing meanwhile supernatural ended pretty much the worst way it could ever end a month ago and in doing so birthed its own cultural renaissance out of sheer incompetence. incredible

i literally get secondhand embarrassment watching dean get increasingly desperate to be around cas like the longing is palpable it’s crazy that cas thinks dean doesn’t want him because it’s obvious that’s ALL he wants

cas: the ONE thing i want is something i know i can’t have

dean:

Cas is the epitome of this meme:

*nudges husband awake at 4 AM* me: do you like me him: I married you me: yes but did you marry me as a friend, or like, a wife? unclear
